Is it me or does it seem like the media is rushing the Christmas season this year? It's not even Thanksgiving yet and every other commercial is related to Christmas shopping and im being inundated with Christmas movies on Fios. Don't get me wrong...I LOVE Christmas time. But can I get through one holiday at a time?!? I haven't even purchased my Thanksgiving turkey yet and the media has me feeling like I should be putting up my Christmas tree. Yesterday I went out and bought a cute little wreath for my door. It wasn't until I left the store that I asked myself "Why did I just do that?" I went there to buy a birthday card. The answer is clear, I have succumbed to social pressures. Personally, Ive decided to slow down and enjoy the holiday season one step at a time. Time flies too fast as it is. The last thing I want to do is rush Christmas. Anyone else feel that Christmas is being extraordinarily rushed this year? Is it just me?

Ohh yeah! Christmas, the most wonderful time of the year. I like Christmas, and new year too. Lots of food and fireworks! LOL XD

LOL..yeah me too. Im like a little kid around this time of year. We don't really get fireworks here in New York but the window displays, blinking lights, and Christmas music is just fantastic. Oh yeah...and of course the food! :)
it just seems like the media tends to rush it and then Christmas is gone before you know it. :(

Well, we can't do anything about it. Just enjoy it everyday, give love and receive love in return. Talking about giving, I wish someone would give me a gift this Christmas. Never have one since high schools Christmas party. :3

Oh, I hate that, too. I say it even as a Christmas lover. Christmas spirit from December is okay with me... but in stores in my country, they were even starting to put up Christmas decoration a month ago... oh god. And there have been Christmas catalogues going around, for Tesco, for Avon... They even put up the Christmas lights on the city's biggest promenade. The biggest Christmas fair here is going to start soon. It's too overwhelming and rushed, and most of it is all about profit, not even the feeling itself.

That is so true. Most of the hooplah is all about commercialism. It's hard to remember the true meaning of Christmas when every other commercial and catalogue is prompting you to spend money on gifts. Im in New York and we just experienced the horrible wrath of Hurricane Sandy. Thousands are without homes, food, clothes etc. I highly doubt if any of them care about a "one-day sale" when they don't know how they're getting their next meal. This Christmas, Im highly focusing on the true meaning of Christmas which is being grateful that my family and I did not lose anything in the hurricane and we're all here, safely, to spend another holiday season together.
