We get so many emails that tell us about having won a lottery, earlier it was from African countries that were promising and waiting to pay us millions of dollars ,and now it is Camelot Lotteries which is ready to pay one million pounds...Camelot lottery has gone on to say that some people are using their name to send almost authentic emails which come straight into our inbox...
I had this experience and I just wanted to see how it would progress, so gave them my address and phone number , where they promised they would send the cheque for one million pounds, a lap top,T shirt and sports shoes through a courier. After I sent the mail I got their rely giving me the consignment number and the name of the courier service and asked me to pay for the courier service before hand, giving me three options..
Friends , Any of you had this experience?or something similar?

I've got plenty of these scam emails and all of them just went straightly into my spam box. I never even be bothered to reply on their emails. ]
Just a quick suggestion, better don't give your real phone number and address to them. They are scammer, you will never know what will they do with your information. They might use it for bad purposes.

Yes I gave the address of our farm house and a second phone number which is in the name of a office...that's why I gave it so confidently...I was curious to see how they would proceed and the manner in which they would cheat, and it became clear when they sent me a mail asking me to mail back the made of payment preferred for courier charges after which they would send me the check and some gifts as well lol

Hi vamsim, thanks a lot for your response Hey you should have gone further and fixed up a meeting and taken someone with you just to see how far they would go, am sure they dont have the guts in the first place to do anything much since they know what they are doing is wrong...But it is better to be cautious ! all the best and enjoy your day

I haven't received any of those emails yet. I've just received text messages saying I won the lottery, I won a certain amount by joining something, etc. So funny, because I never join any raffle draws or lottery. I just delete the messages right away. I know they're only fooling me. LOL. Don't pay for the courier. They'll just get your money.

Oh, good to hear. Yeah, we should not believe mails or text messages sent to us. They only deceive us. Poor are those who give their money out of ignorance.

Exactly ! So when that is the case I am surprised that some people do take it seriously and end up sending money to them with the hope of recovering much more than what they have given.A friend of mine lost almost rs 30,000(600 dollars) and we came to know about it only she had lost it, never told anyone while she was dealing with those people...

Hi Kiran!
I do not open such dubious mail and I refrain from even experimenting. I know they would be fishy emails and would ask for money in some way.
I remember long ago I registered on a site and shared my email ID. I started receiving mails - stating "I am so and so and my father was a very rich businessman and he has left billions and I want to share the money with you and so on ..........."
I did not ever write to the email address knowing fully well that these are fake mails for trapping us.
Thanks for sharing very useful information.

Hi deepak, these kind of mails come into my scam box on a daily basis and what I was trying to say is that now thy have started representing genuine well established sites and send mail through their id which comes straight into your inbox and that's scary because people could easily get scammed...all the best and have a great day deepak

Hi Kiran,
I also got such kind of mails but I know the final outcome so completely ignored the mail. Many years ago we got such kind of mail in our official email id and one of our colleague replied. Finally they asked to pay some money as processing charges and so and so.. our colleague replied they can deduct the money from the prize money, but they never accepted it.
It is the way of making money and they used some famous brand names too to make the people believe.

Hi Sreekala, thanks a lot for your response, hope all ok with you , This is something that goes on even though most people do not believe in it or bother to respond .The one I got looks so authentic,it came into my inbox inspite of a spam filter and that's what surprised me, and Camelot is a reputed lottery site in the UK, I too have heard of a couple of ladies who were naive enough to believe this and send the money, only to lose it all...all the best and enjoy your evening

I do often experience receiving those so promising scam emails and text messages about winning for a very huge amount of money and different freebies. I just took it for granted for I was not surprised anymore about those offers or claims for I already watched that on television. It was the modus operandi or the way of those gang to victimize those innocent citizens. Those citizens who are hoping for a fortune or anything.

yes, several times; and because they allow e-mail communication; so I just e-mailed them. they responded quickly and tell me how to claim the money. some emails telling me that the money is ready to be drawn in a bank in UK. and in order to claim that money I must transfer money to that bank as administration and taxes purposes, as much as 5000 US$ - 10000 US$.
so I reply to them, why don't you cut it from the money that standing by for me? and guess what? no reply till today LOL

Hi gunsing, thanks a lot for your responseMost of these mails are the same, promising you huge amount for which you have to give them the charges which tend to look smaller in comparison but when you look at it from our own side it is a fairly large amount, bu some people have borrowed and sent this money only to realise that they have been taken for a ride..
