Hi friends,
As you know, i am from India, and festival season is going on, Today my sister visited my place and she bought Classic Indian sweets in Aluminum Can Packing, My brother showed interest to try this sweet, so i thought why not open and serve to all in family.
I almost opened the can, Can was almost opened, but just to remove the upper lid, i tried in force and had sharp cut in my index finger, this is first time i had such type of really very very bad cut.
That time i felt whether i lost my finger as the way blood was coming...
I am typing with one hand, though no pain right now, but when i put pressure in that hand, then blood comes out.
I had applied turmeric to that cut, as blood was coming no stop from that finger, i immediately drunk green tea as work best for me. Then when blood stopped first cleaned and applied Soframycin and Neosporin (antibiotic power).
I wish i can upload image of my cut, but i guess not allowed to new registered user.
What else could be done for quick recovery of cut.
Please share your views
Thanks in advance

Hi dear,
So sad to get a cut on your finger on this special occasion. Hope the cut is not deep and you will recover from it very quickly. As a worker in kitchen it is very usual thing with me to get cuts in hands sometimes it is deep some time it is minor, and I really didn’t care how it is cured. On the first two days I felt some pain then who bothers, the wound felt shame and dry.
Take care dear, I think the first aid you did is enough and the wound will dry soon.

Thanks sree, its because of your wishes, i recovered very fast.
Today is much better, i never expected such type of cut, and never had such type of cut before this.
My finger is still swelled, but i guess within 1-2 days, it will surely improve.

Hi Life
Good to see you back (though the cute kid is missing on your avatar).
Happy Diwali.
For the discussion, I had one such cut some years back, when opening one of those Cherry Cans (the ones which are canned in those yellow steel packs). And cuts from such lids are really deep. They will take a while. We had Arnica Mont and Arnica Q at home (mom always has some good homeopathy medicines at home). Though we cut was stuffed with the Dry Arnica Mont and the blood stopped in about 2-3 minues, the pain stayed and like yours, whenever pressure was applied blood would ooze out. So I had to get it bandaged (stiching it wasnt possible as it was quite late and I did not want to get needled).
I hope as it is overnight now, the wound would not keep bleeding but still please have a tetanus injection. That is a better precaution as it was steel that cut.
Take care.

Hi sid (hugs),
Yes, i thought to add same one (image), but not found in my computer, so i selected the above.
It was in fraction, i never thought, it is going to be so powerful and deep, and honestly i was very afraid that time, as i thought i lost finger, or my nerves got affected (cut) the way blood was coming, infact every one in family was shocked.
Thanks to my jeeju (sister husband) and my bhabhi, they both given good suggestion, as this helped to stop the flow of blood.
But today, i am observing good recovery, i uploaded latest status of my finger (LOL).
Thanks for concern, and i am enjoying the come back.
Thanks once again, Happy Diwali to you and your family.

Hi Life
Even I had got cut from one of can. And yes that kind of cuts really hurt badly, specially it cause more blood lose. Well, I think turmeric is the good option you tried out, and hope it will be alright soon. Till than don't put more pressure on it.. I am little confused here on one thing. How can green tea help you in this condition? Here people don't used to take green tea more so don't know more about it.

You need to be careful when dealing with something sharp and dangerous like opening a can. I had similar experience before where I got my index finger cut too. The cut was not that bad so I managed to just wash it clean and apply a plaster on the wound. On your case, since the cut is so serious, I think going for a doctor to check your finger out is better than trying to handle it with layman method. Just in case the wound is really bad.

HI LIFE, Happy Diwali...I looked up the word from the previous
response....
Sorry you cut your finger, but my first thought would be, if
the cut was that bad, head for an emergency room, unless they
are not as accessible there as here in the US...but you need
to make sure that you don't get an infection in that cut,,,
Good luck, I hope it heals without further issues..
