I started to pull out my Christmas decorations today. I have so many and it takes me so long to put them out so I figured I'd get an early start on it. My 18 month old had so much fun today watching me put up lights on the tree and looking at all the ornaments. When do you decorate for Christmas?

I say to each their own. For us, we usually put up Christmas decorations and the Christmas Tree the day after Thanksgiving or that Saturday. My son has been asking since August it seems! One of our neighbors put up their Christmas decorations outside on their lawn on November 1st, which I thought was way too early, but again to each their own. Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

Yeah November 1st seems a bit early but I guess up to that person. I am getting the stuff out slowly taking my time but won't be turning on the lights actually until after Thanksgiving. I will be so busy with wrapping presents and planning Christmas meals as it gets closer so I like to take my time and enjoy it and not be rushed.

Hi Kemak, do you believe that i have a neighbor whose christmas lanterns are hang all year round in her home. Well, Christmas is everyday celebrate by giving unconditional love. You can decorate when ever you feel like for as long as you are happy in mind and spirit and the genuineness is in your heart. take care

Hello there! We usually decorate for Christmas after Halloween. Probably about a week or so. Especially now that we have 2 kids, well babies in the house, its going to their first Christmas ever. So we are planning on putting more snowman, raindeer and Santa Clause. Also more Christmas lights to appeal the kids attention. And for them to remember that Christmas is a colorful holiday. :)

It is fun with the kids. This year my daughter seems to understand a little bit of it. She keeps saying Santa all this week now. It's so cute.

I usually start the day after Thanksgiving, but I'll have out of town company this year, so I'll have to put it off until Saturday or maybe Sunday afternoon. My daughter just texted me that her neighbors across the street are putting up their outdoors decorations, so you're not the only one. I do listen to Christmas music starting about now. It doesn't take much to get me in the Christmas mood!

It takes me awhile to do it all because I'm getting old and decrepit! But it gets done eventually. I listen to Christmas Radio over the internet. It's on all year long so I can get my "fix" whenever I feel the need.

I am putting things up but thinking the lights won't get turned on until after Thanksgiving. With an 18 month old it's going to take me a while to get all my stuff out and put up so figured starting early was helpful. They have nonstop Christmas music on here on the radio already and it's on in the stores so it's hard not to get in the mood!

I usually start the day after Thanksgiving and I put up the tree. I decorate little by little every day and then send out cards little by little and by the time Christmas is here, I'm ready! I just wish I could say the same for wrapping gifts, I tend to put that off and end up staying up most of the night wrapping gifts on Christmas eve.

I saw Halloween stuff in the stores in August and Christmas stuff out firs to October! That is just to early! By the time we have seen the decorations for 2-3 months, but the time the holiday is here...I dont' know about you , but I am bored with it! It was always so much fun and to look forward to was to see the christmas decorations around town...but now..it is there starting in October and by Christmas I am thinking, "so what?". WHen I was working full time I would use the Saturday after Thanksgiving to start getting my Christmas stuff out...I'd spend about 2 weeks doing it, and take it down starting on New Years day or so.

After Thanksgiving. We aren't going all out this year, of course it happens to be the first year that HERE they are doing anything at all, kind of partially because of me. I was going to do it anyway, but luckily the people who lived here said they wanted to do something too. It will be a little tree, some oranments... I'll buy some garland. I plan to have it on Christmas Music when the kids are here, like it was when I was a kid.

That sounds nice. I sometimes wish I didn't go all crazy with the decorations but I've accumulated a lot over the years I guess so I can't help it!

I've got a few decorations that were my mom's. I love seeing a great big deal of display when it comes to christmas, but it is a lot of hard work. To see the faces of the kids though, it makes it all worthwhile.

It is never too late neither too early with christmas time. Christmas is everyday. and see how much joy you showed to your 18month old child. Go ahead and decorate for Christmas its not bad. Me, i go for non removal of the Christmas decoration, so we are reminded to be kind and generous. All people during christmas are kind and generous. so why not. (but honestly, just lazy to put down and to save storage area LOL.

It's never too early to get them out. I hate crunch time around Christmas because I procrastinated.

H Kenmak, I don't think it is too early at all. I usually wait until after Thanksgiving but I have my grandson here and Im kind of excited for him to see the lights and all. He is almost two and it'll be really fun.

I will be going all out this year and I will be decorating the day after Thanksgiving. I love Christmas and decorating the house. I will be getting my stuff out of storage and see if I need to buy anymore items. I know I need to buy some pillow stuffing to put on the table to make it look like snow. I will also be making ornaments this weekend (provided I get my homework done). I know earlier today my brother and I went to Hobby Lobby and there was a little girl singing Christmas carols. She made up a song about how she was a good girl and her brother is getting coal because he did bad in his math class (I know it is bad to laugh when someone does badly in school, but the girl was so cute). I was laughing because the girl's song was cute.

Christmas starts early in our country. As early as September, you will be hearing Christmas carols played over pipe in music in the malls. Putting up Christmas decorations in my mom's house would be as early as October. And we take it don by the first week of January the following year. I think the early decorations in our homes creates a very heartwarming atmosphere.
