I learned a funny description from a movie. If you want to say someone is fat, you can say that a round man/woman English is a foreign language for me, and this word is so vivid

That's a good diplomatic way of saying it, because we live in a PC world today we have to be so careful what we say in fear of sounding predjudiced or discriminative in any way. But there are ways around this as you have learned just by watching a film. My favourite saying is if someone is absolutely useless they are as useful as a chocolate fireguard!

yeah, it is very interesting. As far as i know, to some extent, English and Chinese are similar. Yet as to some situation, it is totally different. For example, "the last straw" in English means "the final factor that changes one stuff", while in Chinese it means that the last hope. Thus, it brings English-learners a lot of trouble. Meanwhile, it is the funny part of learning a second language. What do you say ?
