i read in the news that hongkong superstar will donate all his assets worth $130M to charity when he passes away and leaves nothing to his son. i mean, $130M is really big. if you have the same money, would you donate all of them to charity? how will you divide the said amount to the people you love?

That's really a magnanimous act. I don't think I can do that. My priority is my family, then the less fortunate people. I'll definitely give to charity but not my whole hard-earned money. As to percentages, it depends on how much my family will be needing for them to live a comfortable life. The excess of such then goes to charity.

This is more likely the media exaggerating a statement made by Jackie Chan because it is good publicity. His business empire is more than sufficient to provide and excellent income for his son, so unless he plans to terminate the whole business then his son will be wealthier than most of us even without Jackie Chan's bank account.

Well yeah this a good act but not everyone is same. I don't think anyone will give his money to charity just like that. It is crazy and not possible. There must be some game he is playing here. i am sure.

I saw it on the news too. What's odd is he's not giving anything to his son. He says his son can earn his own money. But it's a good gesture from him to donate to charity.

i think it's really a good thing to donate money to charity. giving all you have is something. i guess he realized he can't bring all his money to the after life.

Yes. But what about his son? I guess he wants his son to learn the value of money by letting him earn his own instead of inheriting a huge amount without the need to work.

I have not heard anything about this, but like several responders so far I find it difficult to believe. It is one thing for the media to say this, but it would be less likely for it to actually happen. There is also the fact that he owns a lot of property and business concerns, which he is unlikely to close down in order to ensure leaving nothing to his son.

Wow!!! great choice donate all money to charity but if son is settled then no problem but if son needs money then he should at least small portion of his money should leave for son also. But no one can do help because this is his choice.

I personally do not believe this. there must be something fishy about it,. it is hard for anyone to let go of their hard earned money just like that no matter how much he might hate his son. This is false information i think.. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day ahead..

This is very generous of him but he must also leave a little something to his family. I think that his family are doing great now but he must also have contingency since there is no guarantee that succeeding years will be as good as we have it right now. Still, bravo to Jackie Chan for his good heart. May his soul has a right place in heaven once he pass a way. This is too much of a sacrifice for him.

i saw that in the new but maybe he already provide something for his son and its already on his son name cause its hard to believe that you wont give anything for your own son
