I had nerves burned on the other side of my spine today.......

I have such a headache because just as I thought, this procedure is just as painful as the first time when it was preformed on the left side of my spine...the right side was done today... Up until about a couple of hours before my appointment, I was still deciding if I was going to go back to have it done...Yes it hurt just that bad...But I trust what the Pain Management doctor told that it should elimate my pain for about 6 months then I would have to have the procedure repeated because the nerves will grow back... So I decided to go and hopefully I get some real relief from the pains in my back... I can take a lot of pain, but a six inch needle in the back down to the spine is no joke..and then to apply heat to a live nerve, can you just imagine the pain.. Well I am going to get off for the night... Good night...

It sounds really awful, so I know your pain must be really awful for you to be willing to go do this. I trust you get a good solid six months or more relief to let you feel it was worth the effort.

Thanks gerty, that exactly what I am wishing/hoping that it really gives me that 6 months of relief,,,It will definately all be worth it if that happens... And it felt as awful as it sounded...I can honestly say that I am just so happy that its behind me..But I now have to have the upper portion of my back and then my neck done. I am looking forward to some real painless days...

I am so sorry you are going through this. Back pain seems to be very hard to manage. I know my mother never did find a good solution to it and tried everything that the doctors said would work. I have a friend that is going through it. She is a few years younger than me and can barely walk. She has had so so many procedures and so many of them seem to put her in more pain than she previously was in. I hope that this won't be your experience. I'll be praying for your speedy recovery!!

I pray your experience will be better too.On a brighter note, I also have a friend who had some procedure done and he is now totally pain free...that is what I hope for you. Hang in there. You are a strong woman and your positive attitude will help. I'm sure of it!

This sounds like a very sensitive procedure. Any nerves being burns to any extent would hurt ALOT. I hope this helps your pain. Six inch needles? Ugh! You seem very brave to have gone through it a second time. It sounds like you are wanting very much to get rid of this pain you have been having.

Yes celtic, 6 inches is pretty long for a needle and I just can't believe that I had the audacity to to see the needle...I am certainly hoping for the day without pain

Ouch! I am just cringing at reading this. Why are you getting this done anyways? I know we always want to just not go, but after the procedure, and recovery we are happy we went. I have to go for iron infusions for the nect 8 weeks, and a colonoscopy this coming week.

I am going to get this procedures because I have a very very painful because I have degenerated disc in my L3 L4 and L5 in my spine...I also have 2 hernia disc further up my back and a bad neck.. I had a colonoscopy last yeat after putting it off for so long but honestly it was one of the less painful procedure I have ever had...My doctor was just great, he even showed me the entire way the procedure is preformed right up to the way the snipping is done...this was during my consulting with him...he made me feel very comfortable...I was out then I was in recovery..not remembering anything...It was really not a bad experience at all...

AW! I think that needle is as long as the one the doctors used when they gave me an epidural. It was really painful, but I have to endure. I hope you feel better after the procedure!
