My fave movie is forest Gump, it tells a story of destiny, love, family, friendship. best lesson of this movie is to keep life simple and not complicate, take life as is, what life throws at you and never ever feel bitter about life. what's your fave movie and why?

I'm currently looking for a blu ray version of it. A timeless classic without that much special effects that we get now from new movies

hi Hexduser.. nice avatar special fx photo..lol as u might think..but actually Forrest Gump uses so many state of the art special effects in that movie.. almost every scene theres brilliant special effect that u probably didnt noticed.. all executed smoothly by Robert Zemeckis..a protege of Steven Spielberg.. the ping pong match..the handicap former soldier.. the photos and tv appearance of forest with other celebs..john lennon etc.... the feather flying away in the begining and ending..all are computer special generated in its finest..so dont be fooled that theres no special effects in Forest Gump..theres heavy use of them for sure.

My favourite movies change all the time, because I tend to go through random phases. I liked Forest Gump, and have used the quote, "Dear God, make me a bird, so I can fly far, far far from here." (or something like it) I identify with Jennifer's character, in the way her life descended. I cried soooooo much when Forest said, "Is he smart" referring to their child. My favourite movie, which has lasted longest for me, is Runaway Jury. I can never get enough of it. Gene Hackman is an amazing actor. AMAZING. Dustin Hoffman, too. My favourite scene is the "coloured bubbles" scene in the bathroom. From what I read, it was the only scene they actually filmed together. That scene is incredible and very well written. Very moving indeed.

I like forest gump as well and the scene where he was sitting down in the bench in the last parts of the movie made me cry. I don't know exactly what the scene was about because it's been years since I last saw the movie but I know that part made me cry. There are several movies that I love but most memorable one for me is the movie Dances with Wolves that starred Kevin Costner. It's about an American Civil War Hero Soldier that was transferred to an outpost in the west, alone and in the middle of nowhere. He was frequently visited by a wild wolf and he was able to somewhat tame it. He was being observed by the friendly Indians who lived nearby and then one day they invited him to their tribe. He learned a lot from the Indians and met a white lady there that was raised by the Indians. I love reading and watching anything about History that's why the movie had a special appeal for me.
