We are so dependent with cellphones these days. Especially because cell phones now are so advance with all different kinds of features. Cell phone added features: games, movies, internet, camera, music players.
Besides all of these advance features, the most important things are email and chatting. Since Blackberry comes with their messenger, cell phone is so intact with us. We seems lost and aggravated without cell phone. Want to keep checking email, BBM and chat. We keep cell phones besides us when we sleep. Not only for alarm purposes, but to check email/chat when it starts to PING or vibrate.
Is this the same case with you? Can't leave without your cell phone? Cell phone is besides you just like your boyfriend/husband? Even more, they are with you all the time, right?

I personally agree cell phones or mobile phones of whatever brands are inevitable nowadays. But I don't think it's indispensable in life. This phones is not the essence of our life. I can still live without it, promise. Remember it becomes imperative in life because it cater our information to be very accessible but it doesn't replace our essence. It is one of our attributes only. A gift of human ingenuity that supposedly advanced the common good of populace not hassles and havoc to life.

I can live without it. Of course it makes some things more difficult if you don't have one, but I could do without it. There are still phone booths, and I really don't use my phone for anything else, just for calling (and texting)... no internet, no calendar, no notes...

You are one of the odd one, most people use their cell phone just like a mini computer/tablet. That is good that you can maintain it like that, not many people can do it. Salut to you!

I cannot agree with you more. Though my cell phone is not an advanced one, i still cannot leave it. I can leave my desktop, my laptop, PSP, or television, but to cell phone, i refuse.
Cell phone is so convenient for us since it offered us the chatting tools. We favours it over the PC version for we can chat with our friends in anywhere as long as they are on line. And for me the most common used cell app is QQ and weixin(The Chinese guys may be very familiar with those). They gradually replace texting message, because we can also send pictures and sounds through them. It just make you think that your friend is just vividly standing in front of you, and under this case you will avoid missing them so much. Very cool, right??
Such a stong addiction somewhat will influence our life, especially the students. I found out more and more students carried a cell phone than before, which will certainly distract them from their study.. So it's really ture for the saying that every coin has two sides..Lol.

I work as a tranlator & the company I work for relies heavily on communication with its employees... I used to use smart phones but now I'm only using simple slide phone... If it wasn't for my work, I couldn't really care any less about my phone, or any cell phone for that matter... I don't play any games on it or listen to music... I have game console & ipod for that... I don't do much internet surfing on it cause I have ipad2 for that... I basically make & receive calls & use it for text messages... So, I can & want to live witout my cell phone but I can't because of my work... I'm thinking once I retire, I'm gonna get rid of the phone but it'll be a while before I retire...

Yes. When my battery runs out, I feel like in danger. What if there is important email. What if my kids have emergency. What if my car break down. I guess I am just a nervous wreck... lol

Since I don't have a landline, I would be lost without my cellphone, tht is for sure. I have hd to be without it when I was charging it, and just the short time I would be gone, I felt lost without it. I use mine everyday, and therefore, it would be hrd to go without it. I communicate with my family on facebook, talk to my family, nd I also use it to check my bank account while I am away from home. It seems that cellphones are really becoming technological, and hrd to keep up with them, but I sure do try. It is likemy cellphone is atached to my hip, as I do take it with me sometimes when I use the bathroom, that wy I won't miss any calls should they come in. take care, and have fun mylotting.

Yeah it's true. Cell phone purposes is actually to be able to contact anyone instantly should you need to call. Nowdays with all the features, it provides more functions not only as a phone. Still the true essence of cell phone is for communication. It's just back then we dont have email. Now email and internet are attached to the phone. Communication becomes broader.

I can't live without it either. It's just like a part of my body now. Be it alarm, listening to music or radio, texting, connecting with friends, internet on the go and most importantly the call facility, just can't live without these. Thus, I need a phone and is a must have. Good day!

I can live without a cell phone. After all I did for the majority of my life until they became popular. If I had to live without one again I'd miss it though. There have been times where I had to call the police, take photos of accidents, used my gps, browse the internet, and called or text my friends when I'm bored. The features my smart phone has I use all the time. My phone makes my life a lot easier. Living without my phone would be a great annoyance and I'd not feel as safe and happy without it.

Lol, I was reading over some of the other responses and I find it a little funny that I'm the only person who can live without a cell phone. I'm not knocking anyone but I guess I was just a bit surprised. Like I said I'd not be happy without my phone and all its features but people got by for years without them I'm sure I could too.

I can't live without cellphone not because of the additional functionalities that it has but because of the nature of my job. I have to make sure I have one way of reaching my trainees, co-employees and family relatives.

Well, I can... this is the biggest thing that my husband and I have fight all the time. He wants me to have cellphone with me all the time but I don't want. The reason is, it is additional cost every month and for me it is not good. i really want to save every penny and I rather spend the money for my children's extra curricular activities.
