The discussion has just posted but when I was about to comment on it, I can no longer find it. I guess it was deleted. Have you encountered this fellow myLotters? Were you suprised? Feel free to share your experience. Happy mylotting everyone.

My post on discussion was deleted because the discussion was deleted. Maybe you are about to post on the same discussion I responded. The discussion was about taking a bath, makes me wonder why it was deleted.

I saw that discussion. It asked 'how often do you take a bath?'. So besides a repeat topic, it could also be considered a 'poll type' discussion.

Yeah that's the one, kind of a silly question. hahaha, Is a poll type discussion against the rules?? I don't know that. o.O

Now it makes sense. Repeated discussion never came to my mind, now I'm wondering about how many discussion are started everyday and how many are deleted too. Being an admin of mylot is quite a tough job!

Hi angel. It happened to me in the past as well. And I think I know what discussion you are referring to. Because few hours ago, I found a discussion about couples having shower together. And just recently, I check it out again and found out that that discussion has been deleted.

I use to get a email to say that a friend has started a discussion and when I have gone to look at it, it stated it was deleted, that is the only time that I have ever found this happen to me.

Oh, yeah. That's right. That's one way to determine if some discussions are deleted before we can post our comments on them. Mylot notifications are really useful. Thanks for posting and happy mylotting.

Oh, you added a mylotter friend then he disappeared? It wasn't only his comments? Maybe he deleted his account already or he unfriended you. I'm not sure. Can we do that in myLot? Thanks for posting and happy mylotting.

@neelia That's what's happened to me. We have the same situation. Forever_The_Lamb is right. Only admin can delete our discussions. Thanks for posting both of you. Happy mylotting.

hi angel just think how I felt a month or so back.my own fault for not c heckinp for same topic. then I find out ms.hatley had a g reat discussion but when I went to re spoond it w as gone. Uh oh my then I the ms Hatley in question knew I had just had my discussion deleted sob sob b u t as I say it was my own fault as I had not checked to be sure there were no others with the same e xact topic. I fe felt bad mainnly because a lot of m y friends had already responded to it before it was deleted, I have had only 3 deleted in five years so not too bad a scor e . lol.Alex told me that he debated awhile before deleting mine as it he said was 'better writtenbut the othe one had posted ten minutes before mine and thus he didnot have a lot of choice. I had no quarrel as I was to blame for not having checked first.

Wow, 10 minutes? That was close. Yeah, I guess we are all busy sometimes that we just write and post without checking if there are similar discussions posted already. I guess al of us learn from our mistakes. 3 deleted discussions in five years. That's great to hear. Maybe I got 15 deleted discussions already in three months. LOL. I'm not sure about the exact number. How can we know it? I already deleted the notifications. Thanks Ms. Hatley for posting and happy mylotting.

hi angelkarah Sometimes i am surprised but usuallly I am also annoyed as darn why did not the poster stop and read and learn the dos and do nots of the guidelines so they could make discussions that did not get deleted, after all the guidelines are there to be used and read for pete's sakes.

Some of my posts were deleted too before. Though I've read the guidelines and FAQs, I didn't know that my posts violated the guidelines. LOL. I've learned about those mistakes. One example is when I posted something about myLot notifications. I was asking our fellow myLotters if they were experiencing the problem too. Then it was deleted and it fell under personal issues with myLot. Another was when I posted something and I enumerated examples. I didn't know it was poll-type. LOL. Four years ago, I started posting my comments here and I guess I never posted my own discussion. But this August, I've started to post my own discussions. I guess I'm learning each day. I hope our fellow mylotters should be very careful in posting their discussions. They have to read the guidelines from time to time especially when they forgot all about them or if they haven't read them yet. Thanks Hatley for posting and happy mylotting.

It also happened to me, probably admins are really strict that we weren't informed that the posted discussion was evaluated quickly without having us thinking that it was already deleted.

Yes. We weren't notified. We haven't posted our comments yet so we didn't get any notification in regards to the deletion of the discussion. Thanks for posting and happy mylotting.

I have experienced this more than 3x! :/ But what I am surprised of, are posted discussions for few days but were deleted later on.. Some even had responses already.. But anyway, we are to abide guidelines so whenever admin/moderators deletes some posts, then surely it's for the better of the site and users.. cheers xD

You are right meowchie. Some of them weren't deleted instantly. It took days before I got sdome notifications. Maybe admins had so much work so they took it one at a time. I thought it would only take 24 hours for a discussion to get deleted. I was wrong. Anyway, let's keep on posting and let's just be aware of the guidelines. Thanks for posting and happy mylotting.

I have found some messages sent from mylot tell me that my answers are deleted because of the deletion of those discussions. I don't know why. Maybe many people think that they are negtive or something else.

They violated the guidelines for sure. Some of them maybe were poll type, personal issues with myLot, meaningless, discussed myLot algorithms, etc. Discussion makers should be aware of the guidelines. Some of their discussions were really interesting but they have to be deleted. Thanks for posting and happy mylotting.

I got 3 emails from mylot since I signed up here. That my comment was deleted because the topic is not available and was deleted. So I'm thinking maybe they violated the rules.

Yes, you're right. We are being notified if we posted our comments in those deleted discussions. Awhile ago, I was interested in answering the discussion. I typed my answer to MS Word while scanning other discussions, ten when I was about to copy-paste my comment, I could no longer find it. I tried to find it in my history then the page said it was already deleted. Thanks for posting and happy mylotting.
