Improvised grilled cheese sandwich.. make it creative yo!

I saw these Grilled cheese place on TV, they twisted grilled cheese to the next level.
Some of the grilled cheese sandwich that they make:
Grilled cheese with pesto, spinach, onion and tomato. The cheese is habanero swiss cheese.
Grilled cheese with portobello mushroom sautee with onion and tomato, cheese is provolone.
Have you do some experiment with grilled cheese sandwich?

When I saw it on tv, my mouth is watering. The cheese melt, making a string, combine with all the other ingredient. It is so tempting. I am going to experiment tomorrow for my kids.

Hi there Wfhchristiner!
I like Grilled Cheese but I have not tried making one. I think that the options that you presented are quite interesting since some people do not like their grilled cheese made purely of cheese and would like to add some flavor. I am most interested in pesto because I like it a lot on pasta, I believe it will be just as good with grilled cheese sandwich.

I love my grilled cheese with pickles and tomatoes.
However, when ordering it at a restaurant, most cooks don't grill the tomatoes and pickles.. ACK!
