Deep-fried mars bar!

Another thing I tried in Edinburgh, Scotland last week was a deep-fried chocolate mars bar. I was looking forward to that actually. They dip the mars bar into a batter they had already prepared, until the chocolate bar is covered evenly, and then they fry it until it becomes crispy gold. I don't know about you but it was something really weird for me. And I can honestly say that I loved it. It kinda reminded me of a crepe, with nutella and caramel or something. Nice little dessert.:)

I live in the states and I've seen them deep fry all kinda of stuff. Some other things I've seen are deep fried twinkles, cereal, and the most disgusting sandwich ever. I forget what it's called and everything they put on it but they use doughnuts instead of a roll. People deep fry so many weird things I am starting to believe they could even deep fry a pair of socks and people will eat it. I'm glad you enjoyed your Mars bar but I think I'll stay clear of that stuff.

As far as healthy food goes i agree it doesnt go much lower than that. Even considering the reused oil in that pan is disgusting. However when I go for vacation at a place i like to eat something i won't have the chance to try back home again. And it's even better when at least i enjoy it. You are right however, keeping away from deepfried food is a basic healthy-food rule. :)

I agree with that mind set. If you're on vacation and its possibly a once in a life time opportunity then there is no harm in it. I'm originally from Philly and whenever I go back home I always grab a cheese steak. They're a deliciously unhealthy meal dripping with grease but I rarely travel there since I'm now so far away from home.

Everyone loves chocolate i guess:P. That's another reason that allows weird experiments with it... like deepfrying it for example. You really can't get wrong with chocolate experimentation.:P

They are great on their own indeed. That was the only reason I tried something like that.:P Even though I personally prefer snickers to mars. However it was something interesting to try. At least for just one time.
