Or have you ever joined one? Yesterday I had to join the city-wide parade as part of the school anniversary celebration of the kid in the house. We walked from one park and ended at another park where a program was held. The parade started at 2 o'clock and you can just imagine how hot it was. Yes, we were walking under the heat of the sun! Anyway, it was good exercise. How about you? When was the last time you joined a parade? Have you joined one before? Tell us about it.

I think I've always been a spectator rather than a participant in parades. I know it's fun to be in one, but you can't see the entire beauty of the parade if your participating in it. Or maybe I'm just lazy I had joined a few protest marches when I was a bit younger. Do they count?

Protest marches Beamer? Wow, that's without the band and the majorettes. I don't think that constitutes a real parade, but I too would prefer to just stay at the side and watch.

I know. There are no majorettes, true, but sometimes there are bands and effigies and people in costumes. Sometimes it's as fun as going to a parade. It's like a circus but with a political theme to it

It has probably been about nine or 10 years since I was in a parade. I walked in one as one of the volunteers showing off adoptable dogs to the public, and I got to walk with one of my canine friends. I really haven't had much of a chance since then to get involved in a parade--neither the planning aspect nor actually being in it.

There was a decent-sized group of us with adoptable dogs as part of a community parade. I don't remember which occasion the parade was for, though.

Hi Eagle. Parades are supposed to be fun. It's fun to watch them but I think it's more fun to be in it.

I haven't walked in a parade since I was three or four years old when my parents took me to Disney World and a worker was pulling children out of the crowd to walk in the parade with all of the costumed disney characters.

11 years back, when I was a public employee in the municipality where I was serving, I used to join 2 or 3 parades annually. They were held in commemoration of the municipal day, the June 12 Independence Day and the Patron Day. The 3 memorial events are reminders of the sweat and labors of forebears to make a name for the upgrading of the municipal government, of the ordeal and sacrifices suffered by local heroes in the hands of foreign invaders, and the lives of saints who are believed to have effected something for the glory and name of the place. In all of these events, participants are subjected to the searing heat of the sun, especially during midday. We would perspire and fan to cool ourselves under shades of trees after each activity.

Hi Stary. In our place and in this particular grade school, parents are urged to join the parade. I thought I would outgrow this thing.

I have never joined a parade but I have seen it.Maybe it is also a way to ask the government to slove their problems.

I am not really fond of joining parades because I would rather watch one and take pictures. But last year, being a government employee, we were all instructed to participate in a certain parade to promote the campaign supporting the violence against women and children act. It is for a good cause so despite my reluctance to join, I still went because this is something that I believe in. Also the rest of my workmates and friends are coming so I figure it would be another chance to also spend some time with them that's outside work. It was fun and I think it was a success.

Nice experience huh. Anyway if it is for the kids, why not? Me, I just attended a wedding this morning. It was a Thai wedding, very early. To start with the wedding the groom will be coming from his house. So we went to the groom's house. I did not know how the do it i just went with the flow. In the groom's house there was simple ceremony. then little did I know that we will have a parade after. Yes, just this morning i joined the parade. We accompany the groom to go to the bride's house by parade. The start of the parade, was band that plays Thai's authentic musical instrument. A man is shouting to call the attention of the neighborhood or townspeople. Yes they were waking up the people as if saying "wake up, this man is about to get married." Then, the groom at the middle of the parade with his relatives behind him bringing different offerings for buddha. then us, ordinary guests. Then we went to the bride's house.
