Our Ama (grandmother) is turning 99 years old tomorrow and yes, we're having a big celebration! Relatives from all parts of the world are coming and going to celebrate this special day with her. We'll all be in red tomorrow, while her, the birthday celebrant, in gold! I'm just so excited for her. It is in our genes to have long lives. My great grandmother used to be 100+ during her time. I just can't help but realize how healthy our ancestors are and how blessed they are to live that long. I just hope that our generation would also be like theirs in spite of the unhealthy foods we are eating today.lol

Wow, that's a good way to celebrate life for your grandmother. I'm sure she'll enjoy it a lot, and will be very grateful to you and her family. But, do you realy want to live that long?

Your question had me thinking. haha. Part of me says yes, while the other part says no. Yeah. It is hard to live that long. Maybe I can no longer walk or even hear or see things. What keeps me wanting is that I might see my great grandchildren. Of course, who wouldn't want that. But, yeah it is hard. haha =)

Just keep a healthy lifestyle so you get both a long life and good health to see your grandkids.

I think at the rate it's going, centenarians might be a rare thing. We're not only eating 'unhealthy' food, we're sometimes living unhealthy lifestyles. Add to that the pollution factor. I for one don't think I'll reach the age of 90 I bet the celebration would be a great one. Pass on our birthday wishes to your Ama

Right. Unhealthy lifestyles and pollution affect our health. Ugh :( It's sad to think we couldn't see our great grandchildren like our ancestors did. I always remember what my dad told me. He said my grandma used to eat vegetables and fish without any preservatives. That is why until today, we never use preservatives in cooking. I hope it helps. Anyway, thanks for the wishes. Even now, my grandma can eat anything she wants. I mean, she is allowed to eat anything without restrictions. To have that freedom makes me really want to follow her footsteps. :P

Well, that is a milestone especially these days when pollution and all those viruses around us. You're grandmother has done a good job in taking good care of herself since she reached 99 years old! Other doesn't even make it to 40! Well, let us just wish your Ama good health and more years added to her life!
