In china, there is an old saying. One boy is grazing his sheep on the hillside. He wants to play tricks on the adults at the foot of the hill. So he cheats the adults and shouts to them that some wolves are running to eat his sheep. Then they adults all stop their work to help the boy. When the adults climb on the hillside, they see no wolves are on the hillside. And then, the boy tells the adults that he just wants to play a joke to them. When the adults come back to work at the foot of the hill, he shouts to the adults that some wolves are running to eat his sheep again. When the adults return to the hillside again, they still don't see the wolves. At the same time, they know they have been cheated by the boy again. The boy laughs out loud.
The adults come back to the foot of the hill to work again. After a while, some wolves really run to eat the boy's sheep. He shouts to the adults for help, but no one wants to stop his work to help him. They all feel that the boy wants to cheat them again. As the result, the poor boy 's sheep are all eaten by the wolves.
From the old saying, I feel that if you always cheat others, these cheats will be harmful to yourself in the future. Honest is one of the most important things in our life.
What do you think about the old saying?

Hi, we too have this story and it teaches us not to tell lies . This will harm us one day. Actually this is right. People stop taking us seriously after few incidents. If we go on boasting or cheating or telling lies about any thing. I agree completely.

I agree but this karma process is very slow. I have seen/seeing people who are in good position inspite of doing lot of bad things. And the good people are suffering.

Some stories, especially those with morals to them seem to be universal. They are told in many or all countries. We have a very similar story called "The Boy who Cried Wolf". I guess I had never thought of China as a sheep grazing country, though. It is interesting to see how much alike we are.

No wonder we have no story like this in the philippines we dont have sheep. I was trying to think of a counter part story like this back home. I can't remember.... we don't have wolves, too, I don't think they can stand the tropical heat there. Hmmm... though we have people turning themselves into wolves.. (a mythical Philippine Folklore or ghoal)

Mattxu that old sayibg is stil true as you cheat others it will come back to'
hurt you a lot like karma or what goes around comes around. you do bad and one day it will bite you in the butt. A lot of old sayings are really true and we all
would do well to abide by them.
