The right attitude toward our Job.

I am on a cleaning spree when suddenly I noticed a sheet of paper that has been given to me many years ago in one of my attended seminars. I would like to dedicate this one to those "who take for granted" their present jobs.
I am your Job...
You have taken me for granted.
Many times you treat me with shabbiness and indifference;
You never seem to like me.
In fact, you never seem to appreciate me at all.
Many times you hurl slighting remarks about me.
You blame me for robbing much of your freedom - that if it were not for me,
you'd have more time to pursue your leisure,
to make friends and to do other more enjoyable things besides.
You expect me to give you something in return.
Don't I provide for your food, your clothing, your shelter,
and the money you spend on a thousand and more things?
Does't your bank account depend upon me?
And how about prestige?
Were if not for me, where do you think would you be?
You must understand that I also have feelings.
Because I give, I also expect to receive.
And what I'd expect from you would be your unfailing loyalty,
affection, and your devotion.
Just supposing one morning you wake up and find me gone.
Would you not face the day with uneasy feelings;
perhaps bordering in fear, hopelessness and despair?
For then, hunger, deprivation and poverty would be at your door.
And perhaps the friends you have gained through me,
would slowly begin to desert you
and your bank account would begin to dwindle.
So after all, I'm important to you.
Your satisfaction in life greatly depends upon me.
So, if you want to keep me, value me or else,
I'll run away from you.

Great comment Cutie18f. It is just like saying, when you enjoy your job, you are not really working but having pleasure in serving.
Have a nice great day.

Right attitude makes you comfortable when doing a job. Your boss must have impress what you have done. Negative things cannot be good in your because it will affected or maybe failure. Just do the right job and keep up the good work. Have a nice day there.

You are right cobalt20. Having the right attitude coupled with patience in your work mo matter how lowly it is, is the sure way to get promoted in the long run. Almost always, it is those who think highly of themselves are the ones who have this attitude problem.
Greetings and have a nice great day.

Oh, this is really great. I love my job. If I could, I would have this job forever, til I get old. However, there's no assurance that it will be forever. It's not yet a stable one. I am doing best at work. But, my boss doesn't seem to see it. He's always finding fault. He can see tiny mistakes but he can't see our great sacrifices. He doesn't even treating us good. If job is only easy to avail, I'll find another employer with a big heart. Well, I guess I'll enjoy myself working for awhile til I another opportunity knocks. I love what I'm doing that's what matters. Thanks for sharing and happy mylotting.

Hi angelkarah greetings. I have been a supervisor too. Sometimes they seems to care less but at the bottom of their hearts they are just watching the attitude of the employee(s).
As for you, with the right attitude you have, I have no doubt, sooner or later you'll be hearing the opportunity knocking your way.
You might want to inform me when that happen.

Yes ARIES1973. In this time of crisis we must value our jobs always do the best. After all, supervisors and employers are always watching from a distance. I do not mean to stay with our present job forever but when opportunity knocks our way, use it rather to our advantage.
All the best mangtony.

Thanks a ton for sharing this discussion. Well i really liked the poem and i am sure it will touch the hearts of those who give it a read. We should never take our jobs for granted as there are many people in this world who are jobless and want to take up any kind of job they get. So we should learn to respect our job and give our hundred percent efforts to give justice to our jobs so that we give no chance to anyone to complain about our performance and dedication at job.
What say?
