For many years now I have been trying to search for the identity of the seven Churches mentioned in the book of Revelation chapters 2 & 3. One of which supposedly in existence until the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ himself (Rev. 2:25).
Do you know of any historical or identifying signs as to who and where are these 7 Churches in our 21st Century?

In John's day, they were seven specific congregations or Christian communities in the mentioned cities. Though the counsel was specific to the congregations mentioned, a sort of local need, the world-wide Christian community at that time could learn from the letters.
Today, they are the world-wide true Christian community or brotherhood. The counsel in those letters is as valuable to us as it was to them at that time.

Actually this was a very interesting discussion. What or where are the seven churches described by John?
There are many different interpretion about this. Churched during that peroid, Christian denominant, the Churches within continent and so on.
My take on this is it regarding the characteristic of today Christian. It is a letter to us depend on our chracteristic.
Read it carefully and slowly and we will find the encouragement and warning given to us Christian.

Or the prophecy of Amos had been fulfilled and being fulfilled. "Behold, says the Lord God, that I will send a FAMINE in the land, NOT A FAMINE OF BREAD, NOR A THIRST FOR WATER, BUT OF HEARING THE WORDS OF THE LORD; v12, "and they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro TO SEEK THE WORD OF THE LORD, AND SHALL NOT FIND IT", (Amos 8:11-12).
Please try to compare, Romans 9:28, "for He will finish the work, and CUT IT SHORT in righteousness; because A SHORT WORK will the Lord make upon the earth".
God bless and Have a nice day, lampar.

just to be awkward here i am going to offer an alternative explanation.
revelation is supposed to be a dream, dreams are usually metaphorical, and therefore any interpretation of revelation should be metaphorical, so it is unlikely that this is a reference to real churches.
given that there are also 7 candles, to represent the churches, i would suggest that the candles represent inner light, and so my suggestion would be that its more to do with connecting to and knowing god, than to do with a physical built church.
it could link in which chakras, and seven stages of knowing god, and more mystical stuff like that, but that is just my view.
