I definitely believe that the customer base can be largely expanded when you are in a business of selling by using the internet because the number of people that you can reach when doing sales through the internet is limitless where as selling to just a local group of people is something that is very limited.
I don't believe at all that there would be any kind of harm at all for you to start a website to try to increase your customer base for your business.

If you have already had an offline business, of course it is a better chance for you to sell online. You can sell from Ebay but usually it is a personal selling only. And if my memory is correct, Ebay will charge you some fees even if you haven't sold anything yet. It is better for you to have your own website about crockery. Perhaps it will attract some importers or wholesale buyers.

I think that is possible. Why not? You have to find information on how to start it. I think there are sites that can answer your questions.

I am not sure what a "crockery" is, but almost anything can go online. The very least you should do is have a website. Even if people cannot buy directly from the website it should be set up so that it contains all of your contact information and lets everyone know all about your business information.

Hi Tushavi
Of course dear, you can sell the crockery online. The ebay is just one way. Another way which you can opt for is to have a business website something like tushaviscrockery.com and you can offer your products online on that site too. The difference would be - with ebay they will take a share in the sales made. And whatever you sell via your site would be yours.
So what normally is done in such cases is - you provide your best selling products on ebay (and other similar sites) and also have the visitors come to your site for the variety and different ranges.
And if you need, I am around to help you with anything related to this.

i would start with ebay, as its relatively risk free, and low cost, and as you build up a good reputation as a seller, you can build your profile and you can expand the information about your business. there are a lot of businesses that trade on ebay.
and i would create a website too, but building a website can be expensive, if you want it to look good, so starting on ebay seems to me like a good idea, as you sort of test trade, and see what products you sell, that people want to buy online, and works out what is most popular. then build your own website when you know what people who buy online are most likely to buy.
because you want a professional looking website, which costs money, so i wouldn't do it straight away, i would test on ebay first, and then slowly build the website, but obviously that depends on how easily you can find someone to build your website, if you have a family member who can do it, then that would make creating a website easier.
so i would start with ebay and then build up to a website, and link it in.
but i have never done it, this advice is all theoretical, and i would look for other sources for advice, as well.

Hello friend :)
Good to know you are very concerned to how you can expand the reach of your family business!:) Very good son! :) Hehehe
Well I know yes- but you need to be specific in who you would like to market:)
If in case local Pakistan, then scout if there's big number of Internet users in your country..
If international- then Ebay is good..Just that, you should research for the freight fees..
ANOTHER nice option to Sell Online is creating a Facebook Fan Page(shop online) for this.. :)
But bottom line, good luck on this!:) Wish you success!

A pleasant day to you,
As far as I know, you can convert offline earnings to online. With the product that you have mention, perhaps, just try to do a blog or website for the products you want to introduce in the online market so you can be able to promote it as well as to your other friends.
Then of course it would be best to post it at ebay, perhaps try to send them a query as to their terms and conditions. Anyway, happy selling and more earnings.

You can definitely sell your products online. Ebay is one great site to showcase it, as well as making a fanpage at Facebook. You just need to promote your products well to different social networking sites. You may also choose to have your own site. You may make use of some free webhosting sites so that you do not need to pay for it annually.
