Hi dear friends. I have just been hired for freelance writing. I can only meet the minimum word count requirement on writing a product review for 800. I like working with my employer as he is very supportive of me and he pays me on a daily basis. Sometimes he even sends the payment as soon as he has approved my articles. So far, there's not much editing required. But I want to meet the 1000 word count for me to earn better. The pay rate is $2 per 800 word count. I know it's quite less than my previous rate from a co-blogger that gave me $2.50 for just 200 word count. But as a beginner on this field, I am not that focused on the payment but on the experience to enhance my skills and widen my knowledge to improve on this craft. Can you recommend any website that allows a starter to work with a client on a lesser word count requirement? Or can you share some advice on how can I collect more vocabulary and ideas to meet that? I hope to learn from you. Thank you in advance. Cheers!

One things for sure, when you are to write-you should know about it first.. So upon learning about a topic, make sure you read about it for an hour or more.. Search more of it,history and etc..I've read this a lot of times..that writers research time would take longer than the period of writing..lol It's not to copy or memorize, but it's getting more about it..so eventually you can write and express on your own words.. More readings, means more details to share..Hope you'd make it to your requirement!:) Good luck at that!!

Hi meowchie. Thank you for your tips. I have learned a lot. You are right; my brain cells will explode if I don't have enough time to research on a certain topic that requires me to write a 1000 word count. Haha. There's too much squeezing and drinking of coffee to keep the thoughts coming. I think working in a restaurant is quite easier because it has balance of effort in terms of thinking and physical workout. Writing requires more of pumping and digging the knowledge that we have and our eyes also is having a marathon on reading zillion words while understanding and recording important details.

Yes.. :D We can't be good writers if we are not even good readers.. Whether from magazine, newspapers, books or online articles- reading is the basic tool for us to acquire knowledge.. ;) Hehe and yeah, no matter how we try to squeeze our brain, if there is nothing stored in it, then there's nothing to be express!:) Cheers! We all need to read and learn once in a while.. It will benefit us in the future dear :D

I never write 1000 word content for my articles, most of them is just 200-300 words. But if you wanna write with 1000 content,my advice please write step by step, today try to write in 300 words, tomorrow continue to write 300 words.Maybe you can join with odesk.com or find article directory to collect your vocabulary.

Hi tedifa. Thank you for your tips. I cannot choose to write on that way because the tasks are on the spot. The client gives me the link of the product I need to write and mostly I have to finish writing within 1 hour or 1 1/2. I prefer receiving the URL link at least 1 hour ahead for me to do some research to meet the 1000 word count requirement. I am after the quality of writing rather than the quantity. I am currently working with few sites like oDesk. I am reading more how to guides for freelance writing jobs. Have a great day!

Read books. See how other writers write. Develop your own style. I write articles for websites. I write what I call creative non-fiction. I try to make it interesting as well as accurate. As for word counts, try to abide by them. Do lots of research about every facet of your subject even if you are familiar with it. Things change, memories warp and new information comes to light. Use credible sites for your research. For controversial subjects, always quote an expert or person known in the field. Don't forget to rewrite. That is when you can tweak the word count, either tighten it up if it is too long or add more information and blend it in. Make sure the continuity is intact. If you can, let it sit for a few hours or overnight. You will not believe the errors you catch on a second look. It would take a class to tell you everything. Good luck and good writing.
