Hi, I suggest to use Kaspersky(1st) or Norton(2nd). Kaspersky is very strong defender (may be strongest), but it's heavy enough for my pc(1.6GHz, 1GB of RAM). So, for low specs pc, i suggest to use norton360. It's lighter than the first above, but not too bad, moreover, it's cool enough to protect our pc against viruses.

My personal opinion is that you should judge an antivirus as you judge most products, meaning by the price-value ratio. Kaspersky is a very good anti-virus software, however I found out that I can get the protection I need by free antivirus as well, thus saving me a lot of money. I have tried in the past Avira antivir, but this years I switched to the free version of avast antivirus, and I find it to be a really complete and good one! If you don't want to spend money to invest in an antivirus, just give avast a try I say.

for me the best Anti Virus is Bitdefender. this AV won the best AV of 2012. I used Bitdefender 2013 its free though there are tricks that can make the free trail longer for almost a year.

Best free anti-virus for me is MSE. I have used Norton, Kaspersky and McAfree in the past, all paid versions. MSE works equally well, if not better, being a free product. Just go for it.
Good day!
