Living far apart

Should families live far apart? I haven't really thought of this before but now that all my siblings are living far away from me and my mother I'm kind of wishing that we all live near each other. December last year my brothers and his family went home for a vacation, and April this year my sister and her daughter took a 1 month vacation. Another brother also living far to work comes home twice a year. My other sister who's also married lives in the same city as ours but it's a one hour ride from here. Reuniting with them at least once a year is a very happy and memorable event, specially bonding with their children since I don't have one. This also makes my mother very happy seeing all her children coming home.
Of course we can't dictate that they should live here, they have their own lives now. Sometimes though I think that life is too short for us to be apart when it makes us happy when we are together, or maybe we're that happy because we seldom see each other.

I wish I lived further from some of my family members actually. A whole lot less drama and problems. Then when we would reunite at least we would be happy to see each other! Right now the problem is we see each other too much I think!

I don't like it but I have a daughter and grandson who live in California and I live in MA. Neither of us can afford to visit very often. There was a time when I lived in CA too but then I was away from my daughter and son who live here. No we can't tell them where to live but I keep trying to talk my daughter into moving back here.
