I mostly scream. I need to scream when I'm upset. I need to let my anger out.
Then a great music and a pen and a paper will do the rest... hehehehe

we normally like being alone when we are upset. its better that way rather than fussing around people.

It depends what kind of upset. If I'm upset and hurt, I will probably keep my cool as best, and just get on with some work, work my way out of my upset mood, and use work and time to heal me. I often phone a close friend in moods such as this, and pour my heart out, but mostly I use work and creativity, to try to turn a negative situation into a positive. I like to spend a lot of time alone, as I find solitude healing perhaps; I certainly do all kinds of work and creativity. If someone says something hurtful, I'm pretty quick to demonstrate my woundedness, although, and I think I'm right in saying this, I try not to seriously lose my temper; and try to keep things as calm and pleasant as possible: I might turn it into a joke. But protest just the same, maybe with a smile on my face. On the other hand, if I'm hurt and deeply depressed, it might not be so easy. Again, phoning my close friend would come to mind. As for shouting...I'm not saying I haven't done this, but what I will say is that at my time of life, it's not good for me. Personally I don't think screaming or shouting is good for a person, when they're young...fine...but older...no, not as I see it. Possibly, although I'm no medical expert, it can raise blood pressure, have a negative effect on the nervous system, put strain on internal organs, perhaps. Of course, many would disagree and say that screaming is enormously cathartic; for the young maybe, but not beyond a certain point in life. In my opinion. So I would say for me personally, it would be best not to give in to intense emotion, and try and find another calmer way out of my upset.

In all honesty I should add, I don't always succeed in remaining calm when I'm upset, and can get very angry and say hasty angry things. But as I see it, this is very unwise. It's always best to exercise self-control.

Hi,
I remember in the past I would love to scream when i'm upset. However, it's difficult to do so when living in Singapore. Singapore is very densely population and if I scream, I think many people would hear me and then think that i'm mad.
It's good to scream to let out the frustrations, i like you idea of great music and a pen too.
For me now, i would usually just complain or tell my friend about it and then try to forget about that matter :)

When I am upset to someone I stay quiet, I don't want someone to talk to me. I want may anger pass away before I talk. Because when I am upset I can't control my mouth. I will say everything I want whether it will hurt you. And I don't want it to happen that I can hurt someone by my words. I want to be alone when I'm upset. I will talk when I'm ready!

Most of us can't really control our mouth when we are upset or mad. As much as possible, i want to let everything cool down. but their are also times that we can't control..

I cried and let my anger came out after that I called a friend who wants to listen.
I tried to calm down so I can think much better.

I don't scream - the people around me might think I'm a little crazy. I usually take a deep breath and try to break down whatever it is that is upsetting me. Sometimes I like to get fresh air. One day, I'm going to start running when I'm upset - at least then I can burn some calories too!

When I am upset I cry first always. Then I get a pen and paper and just write and write how I am feeling. Or I come here to vent it out. Lol.

It depends on what. I mostly am alone or leave. I think it over search for a solution also ask myself why I am upset at all. If the feeling stays I talk to my kids, a friend or in the last case I call my husband who lives abroad.

When I'm upset, I need to be alone for awhile. I need to vent either through writing, shouting, or running. I would rather try to calm myself down this way by releasing the anger and extra surge of adrenaline than hurt someone and be sorry for it later on.

When I am upset, I will go into the room when no one there and started to punch something and cry. After a little calm, I'd tell about what made me so upset to my trusted friend. Usually I still upset because I tend can not forget it easily...And the thing is I always blame myself even if it's the other side who was hurt me or something like that. I can not overcome that sadness and upset easily. I still struggle to do it, to be honest.
