Are you often dipping into your savings?

I'm trying to get our savings up. I have been planning on setting aside money from my check for savings. Then my husband tells me that $150 is gone that is suppose to be used for bill money. He figured out where it all went too. But that means now I will have to use the money I was planning to set aside for savings to help with the bills. It seems as if we can never get a step ahead. Whenever I try something comes up and I can't save the money for some reason or another.

I so know what you mean. We have been living like that for a couple years now. Between losing jobs, floods, schooling and the economy we have used up all savings we had. I get a few dollars a month put away and before we know it something happens and it's all gone again. We have been digging out for so long now it seems as though we will never be financially secure again...

We did tires last month.. The guy behind the counter told me to go to the websites of the tires we bought and look for rebates. Apparently they put them up on some of the sites. We got the cheapest tires so they didn't meet requirements... turned out we could have gotten better tires with a rebate to equal out the same..oh well lesson learned.

Yeah I know it is a very feeling. I'm hoping that nothing else comes up for us for awhile. We will be getting all four new tires in a week or so. Which is so expensive. After that I'm hoping things will calm down so we can catch up. I hate being behind and feeling like we aren't going to be able to take care of things if an emergency comes up.

There are times that we are forcing ourselves to sliced the money reserved as savings, because our budget for some expenses was never allotted with the proper reservations, due to the fact that the increases of some commodities actually disturb our preserved budget, that is why we are over spending to the unexpected increases of prices.

It is really agonizing to realized that no matter how we keep thrifting in one expense,so that we could add it to the other one,it is still the same, because the price have just gone up,that we have to adjust it by buying only a few items just to have a taste of it.I really make something to sell just to earn to help increased my savings. In the first round of several days only,I have some few earnings, yet now it is over and that is due to the increasing prices.I am not losing any other hope to help increase my savings, and I just hope and wish these things could help me not losing me to have a savings, because I am planning to have a small business in the future.I wanted cooking,so I needed much more working capital so that I can start soon.

I agree with you. The price of everything else keeps rising. And yet our pay stays the same. Which makes it hard to keep up with everything that we need too. I'm hoping that in time I will be able to get more work outside of the home or find more ways to earn online. Something has to change though so that we can keep up.

Yeah I agree with you. And unfortunately most of us aren't able to earn a lot more than we spend because of all the bills we have to pay. It would be nice if we could all earn a reasonable compared to our expenses. But often times our expenses continue to go up and yet our pay stays the same.

I agree with you. It would be so nice if it was easy to save. If we made more money to fit the rising cost of living. Life would feel a lot less stressful. I hope to work really hard at my goal of saving. I'm just tired of not having any money and feeling broke all the time. It will be a nice feeling knowing that I have money set aside.

Yeah I agree with you. The economy really is awful. It is so sad that the cost of everything continues to sky rocket and yet our pay stays the same. It just doesn't make any sense. So it is very hard to set aside money for savings. I'm hoping that with time I will be able to do better about my savings.

That happens to all of us mostly when the income is not stable and another thing you have to do if you are a christian don't forget to give a Tenth and church Offerings. that is the overall solution for that problem you will see things changing for the better slowly by slowly

Thanks for your suggestions I appreciate it. Giving is a very good thing for us to do. I plan to save more and more as time goes on. It really requires us to be consistent in our efforts.

Personally now a days no matter how much a person makes due to the increase in everything like Food, utilities, etc. it seems like it is always hard to save some extra money for the just in case. It seems like every time that we have done this, something comes up to where you have no choice but too use it. It would be nice if we could save up some, but sometimes you just have no choice.

I completely agree with you. I often think about everything keeps going up except for the amount of money we earn. Which that makes it really difficult to save. I know have to be stricter with myself so that I do get my savings going. I'm just tired of being broke when an emergency comes up.
Like right now we need all four new tires. We ended up having to stay with our family for a month before we could get all of the deposits paid off for our new place. It just seems like something always happens right after another. So I would like to better prepared.

It has been a long time since I had any trouble managing my finances, so I have been able to keep a separate savings account to my current account and leave it alone. I add a small amount to it each payday, which has enabled me to build up a reasonable level of savings and give myself the comfort of a little financial stability.
I realise how hard this can be for some people because we all have different circumstances, so I am fully aware that I am quite fortunate to be in this position.

I'm so glad to hear that you have a good savings. It sure does make us feel so much better when we know that if something comes up, or we would like to get something we can. It is such a great thing that you have going for yourself. Keep up the good work. I plan to work hard to get my savings going and to hopefully continue to add to it over time.

I don't really use my savings on a regular basis. I get paid on the 15th of the month and by the 20th all the bills and the mortgage are taken care of. And I sort of start looking forward to the next paycheck lol. Most of the money I spend is on food and I try not to buy much of anything else. I'm saving up for special mortgage payments that I can make once a year to lower the debt. I can't help it. I hate debts. I suppose that things will change once I have kids and there will be other expenses.

Yeah I understand spending most of your money of food. That is where most of our money goes to besides gas. Glad to hear that you have a plan to help lower your debt. I'm sure that you are happy and excited about that. Yeah having children definitely does raise the expenses.

It's really hard to save money especially if you have a lot of bills to pay and then some emergency situation comes up. As for me, I am single and people might think it's easier to save money when you are single. It's harder though. Unfortunately, I am the only one in the family who has a job. I am the bread-winner and so I have to learn to save money as well. Whoooo...

Yeah I understand what you mean. When I was single I never had any savings. I always had so many bills that I could hardly keep up let alone save any. I'm hoping that I can be strict with myself and do better at saving. We really need to have a good one. Something always comes up and we end up not having enough money for it.

I think it happens to all of us sometimes. I am usually having to go into savings for stupid bills! I hate bills! Lol. But yeah the same thing happened to me, I saved $200 and the cable bill came in at $198.99, go figure, right? I was so mad! So much for that... I will try again next pay check but I am sure something else will come up and ruin it. I am trying to save for Christmas for our kids but it seems every time I put money back another flippin bill comes in to mess it up!!! Good thing my kiddos are grateful for everything they get every year...

Hi! I like talking with you. I haven't heard from you in awhile so I just wanted to start off by saying hi. Wow that is an expensive bill I'm sure you were mad about that. It does always seem as if some bill pops up out of nowhere.
Like right now I have a bill that is from an internet company I don't have internet with because they said that they don't have anymore ports available in our area. So they charged me even though they said they wouldn't because it is there deal that they don't have anything available in our apartment area. They basically wanted me to wait a month or two and see if something would come up. Yeah right! That is too long especially when I need to do as much work online as possible.
I hope that no other unexpected bills come up for you. That way you can get your savings going. It does feel nice to have a cushion to fall back on.

No actually I am not, at least I think I am not.
With me it works this way. As soon as I have my income I pay automatically for rent, gas, electricity, internet, health insurance, road tax, etc etc.. plus a bit saving for my youngest kids and myself (different account). These saving amounts are not much but at least a bit. All the small coins I put separate for times of "need". This can be celebrations, holidays (buying some food if I am on the road). I also have some envelopes where I try to save for things I might need like: a washingmachine, some extra savings so my 2 youngest can go to highschool in some years, etc. What is left over I use for food and if necessary clothes, shoes, medication etc. It's not much but this way I am able to manage, I do not need to use my savings plus I have a bit aside if something is broke. Ofcourse you can not plan everything (I tried for years) and it's a fact that the unexpected costs are the highest :-(

I completely agree the unexpected costs are very high. Do you work full time or part time? It seems that you have a very good plan going for savings. I'm hoping to do a lot letter. I only work part time though and so it seems as if the money I do make goes as soon as I get it for bills. Hopefully I can get a full time job outside the home or find more ways to earn more online. That way I can actually have more money to put towards savings.

That is awesome that you have a cafe. I hope that business is going alright for you. It can be difficult to have a successful business. I'm hoping that I will be able to think of something that I can do to earn some extra income. Whether it be online or outside the home. I just know I would like to do something where I can have a set schedule so I can spend more time with my daughter.
I also hope you will be able to have more income so you can save more. It is really hard. I will have to be stricter with myself so that I can save even a little.
