Oh Christmas is coming! For employees it all means - 13th month pay! Yahoo! I am so excited in receiving my 13th month pay. I want to buy something for myself this Christmas. I really think I did a hard work this year and I want to buy perhaps a phone or a camera. While visiting online stores, I discovered those cellphones called goophones and would like to try them out. They are imitations of iphones but I think android OS running on an iphone hardware is pretty much awesome, right? Not to mention that it is also very very cheap. Oh! I'm so really looking forward to it!

I have a Samsung Galaxy "Mini" phone. Mine is running on Android Gingerbread. It is OK for my needs, but not perfect. The RAM is limited. If I knew I would have looked for a phone with more RAM. But there is a work around called docking. I haven't done it yet but I will. The Galaxy II is better. But I don't have the money for it.

It's good you know what you don't want. Samsung is the main non apple brand here. I haven't seen Xpera, but it might be available. Is Xperia an android phone? How are the apps for it? How is the RAM? RAM is really important. I can't upgrade my RAM or internal storage, so I will need to dock my phone and make the card function as storage and RAM.

A friend of mine suggested I get Samsung Galaxy "mini" as well but I don't think I'm gonna be contented with it. I have really nothing against Samsung but I really like xperia better.

I would rather buy a non-known branded phones than buying rip-off phones. Yes, they do have the same functions as the original ones however, the assurance that it has made in high quality materials are not really reliable and the fact that they are sold online, i bet it will take you time for it to be repaired (if they have a warranty seal) because the item needs to be shipped.
Bottom line, buy a phone in your place, buy a phone that has a reputable and trusted brand with a reliable warranty and fix assurance.

Hey dear! Don't worry I've been doing this for quite a long time. Goophones are not really imitations. They are just like China's version of iphone. Let's just say it's a counterpart of Philippines' myphone. I know of a trusted seller and I hear a lot of good feedback about him. Thanks for your concern. I would consider buying cheaper but more known brand of android phones though. It's just that I can't find one that is affordable and yet basically useful.

Hi miyazaki,
Yes go ahead and get your goophone if you've done enough research and you are prepared to try them out. Of course nothing beats the original in terms of reliability, features both software and hardware. Well since you are constrained in your resouces and you're prepared to take the risk it's ok to try it out. Who knows you may be lucky and get a really value-for-money goophone!

Hi dear. I asked my sister for an advice and she told me I better buy a digicam instead. Ha ha ha. I think I'll just decide once I already have the money.

this is the first time i heard about "goophones" so i dont have any idea about it. but for me, buying the branded ones would be the best option. you dont know how long the imitation phones would last.
im also excited for this coming 13th month pay, but not because i will buy some material thing. im excited because my wife will give birth this december and the money that i'll get will be spent for our baby..

Everyone wants to buy something for the new year but something keen and really need.
but it is before I buy something to see all its features and whether it is worth to you're not then you're throwing money just like the wind.
Success!

Yep. that is true. Don't worry I have done this a couple of times. The lat time I have even bought a korean made tablet and until now it's working perfectly great. I have turned into a very suspicious buyer because when I was in college I would tend to buy secondhand phones that would only last for a month or two. Because of that, I have learned on how to be more proactive in asking questions and researching on a certain item before buying it. Thanks for the response! (^.^)

I don't know what to say about this type of phones. I can't have trust in this phones because they are imitations, as you said. I think that if you want to buy yourself a present buy something good that you can use a long time. This is my opinion and I recomand you a real iphone.

I have never seen this brand in the states. I find that a little odd since the US is such a big market.
Whenever I get a new phone I also purchase a good case and insurance. That way if you like the phone and for some reason it turns out not to be the best of quality your investment will be protected. I'd ask the salesman at the store what he thinks too. At least here they only get commission on activating service and not the actual phones so you might get some good advice from someone very familiar with them.
Good Luck...I'm a huge fan of my iphone so if its anything like mine then I'm sure its just great.
