That awkard moment that somebody tag a photo that's not you in the picture

Sometimes i get annoyed when people in my facebook portal tagged photos in my facebook profile. I don't like the fact that some people tags photos wherein it's not you in the picture and the worse, You don't even know the person in the photograph. I don't know if they pull this off as a prank or they are just bored on something. Also, people who keeps on tagging about products and services are kind of annoying sometimes. better I'd delete them in my list so that they won't bother posting such nonsense again. Do you have such experience in facebook wherein someone tags a photo in which it is not you in the phothograph?

Yes i too had this experience when one of my friends tagged me in an image where i was not present. i straight away put there a comment 'where am i?' and he said sorry and removed my tag. It is irritating sometimes as we are connected to many people on such networking sites and this tag functionality can be easily misused.

What can I say accidents do happen Maybe your friend is just excited to share the picture and they are accustomed having you in such events. I guess it somewhat positive after all

I have experienced this a lot of times in the past and it is irritating. So, what I did is that i changed my settings so that any post would need my approval before it can appear on my profile and in my timeline.

Yes, i've thought of restricting my privacy settings for wall post and tagged/share contents on facebook... thanks for the reply. :D

I didn't know that we can set our settings to ask for approval for every thing that would appear in our timeline. If you did not approved of the picture to be in your timeline can you still be tagged in it but it just wont show in your timeline?

Ut is ok for me. Tagging photos is a normal for me. Iys important to tagged that they show a picture. Not really non-sense for me. Just a normal one.

It really depends from person to person. Would it be okay if you find yourself tagged in a picture where they sell stuff online? As for me I would find it irritating

There should be an option in the picture where you can untag yourself. I'm not really sure because I seldom untag myself

That's the first thing to do, untag yourself. Some people really like to do those things, share their funny pictures, I for one is guilty of it Sometimes it's just really for fun and one can always untag themselves in the picture if they don't want to be disturbed

I always do experience what you are saying... At first I felt disappointed but now it makes me smile. let those friends of yours tag you a picture without you, indulge their boredom as you say maybe they were just bored... My friends in FB keeps doing it to me but I didn't give a whit and I don't blocked them because I do believe that being a very understanding makes me a better person... Just smile back for you will feel a relaxing effect for that! :-)

That's a very positive and I like it. A picture wont hurt as long as it is not disturbing enough in the public eye

I did have some experience with this and I guess I was at fault for some of it, you see, there are names that are similar in my friend's list and sometimes I unknowingly tag someone else (with a different surname) instead of the real owner, I do apologize when my attention is called. However, there are many friends (who are supposed to be close to me) who seem to be overly proud bout their kids (my godchildren) that they would tag me in every activity their kid does! I mean, it's cute and all but there are tons of people tagged with it too and every single time they would comment on the photo (or video), I get to receive the notifications that sometimes is annoying because they're talking on the wall. I'd usually untag myself, but sometimes, I'd be too tired to mind and no longer look into the notifications. Have a great mylot experience ahead!

Yeah people do that. I guess you can just opt to select to unfollow post, that way you wont be disturbed by notifications while still being tagged in the picture.

I've had my Facebook account since 2006 and that's actually only happened to me once in those years since. Which actually was not long after I first joined. Fortunately that picture has long since been gone and/or untagged of me though.

I understand the feeling my friend. It's fine if the person who will tag the photo ask for my permission first- but sometimes there are friends in my list that just keep tagging me and sending photos that I never ask for. The worse is- when they tag photos that are not good to see :xx

I have that king of experience. My friends tag photographic or some interesting pictures, Cartoons, some religious material and also any other interesting material and would love to discuss on that material. They discuss because they like that photograph and like to share with their fiends. They feel me good. So i think this option is very good for discussion.

Not everyone appreciates and understand those things. Sometimes people just share common things in life and they want us to be a part of it. Some people find it invasion of privacy or nonsense at all.

Yeah I really hate that too or it's just some stupid picture and someone tags you in it and then you keep getting messages of people commenting on it etc. Wish people would stop doing that!

Just tell them not to tag you, unfollow the post or just simply remove yourself from being tagged

Are they your friends? Have you ever tried talking to them. If you don't really know them then just delete them from your list or don't subscribe to anything you find in facebook because for sure it will haunt you in the future

The only people that I get tag with which is not me is my niece and nephew so it is perfectly fine. However I always get tag with products and services and majority of them I'm not interested with. I just remove the tag so that I don't get notified whenever someone comment on that picture.

I dont have facebook... but I own an internet cafe here. Several kids come in and Ive heard them get mad at this same fact. I once asked why? They said because that photo would be shown to all of their friends. So I understand now why they get so mad at this tagged photo.

well 1 week ago i have deleted 200 photos tagged in my facebook account they are fun tagging those photos that I don't even know those persons. Well those are common happen in FB Account anyway have a little patient too. I am hoping that their is notification before they tagged so that those tagging would minimize. Thanks for sharing this discussion.

LOL, isn't that ridiculous. Was it by mistake or really that person thought that it was you. on the the side, what if this person would just like you to pay attention on the photo, and not really to put you in an ackward situation.

Hello there! To be honest, I have never experienced what you just mentioned. But I don't like these fake profiles who create spam apps and stuff like that. They usually invite you to see something interesting and then you get a new post on your wall. My mother actually got a wall post regarding an adult site. It was pretty much embarrassing for her but we just laughed about it. Speaking of spam, I think you can get a tag on a picture for spam purposes.
