http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-20383893 I was once asked by someone, if Obama ever did anything that I support. Well for once in the past 4 years, I can safely say yes. "There's no country on Earth that would tolerate missiles raining down on its citizens from outside its borders. So we are fully supportive of Israel's right to defend itself from missiles landing on peoples homes and workplaces and potentially killing civilians." Now thus far we still don't know when Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the Mossad to capture and reprogram US teleprompters, but no doubt the CIA is on the case as we speak. Nevertheless, I completely agree with this. Now the only issue is that Obama is still trying to broker deals between the two groups. News Flash to Obama: You can't fix this! Stay out of it, and let the two groups make their own choices. No matter what happens, you'll be blamed for the failure, and bring problems on the US. So just leave it alone.

I'm really disappointed that Obama said that, as if he approved military action taken by Israel, while actually he could say he condemn the missiles attack and urge both sides to go back to peace talks. I think USA is better stay away from Israel-Palestine war (in term of military action/support), and keep promoting peace talks and support fully to the effort by UN secretary general to promote peace in the surrounding.

So if rockets were falling on your home, and the military was trying to protect you by shooting at the people firing the rockets into your home, you would be against that military action? What would you like them to do? Fire flowers back? Send the tickets to Disney land? Have a group hug session? What would you have Israel do exactly, that you would be ok with Obama approving?

Gunsing, Israel is the reminder to the world that there is but one God. To most Christians in America, that is where our most cherished holy sites are, in Israel. The Muslims have Mecca, the Catholics have Rome, and most Protestant Christians and Jews have Jerusalem. That is the way it is and there is no other choice. Regardless of what Obama detractors say, the President is a Christian. His Christian beliefs are different from many of us Christians, but he's still a Christian. So the US has no other choice. You've heard what our President says and what our Congress says. We support Israel.

One of reasons why the UN exists is for things like this. If all countries acting like Rambo, the world peace is only a dream. How can you explain the civilian victims, women, children that must die by the bombs (I'm not only talking about victims in Palestine, I'm sure there are also civilian victim in Israel). so please, take out that Rambo attitude, and start promoting peace. RobtheRock; I know those holy places you mentioned, but what is the correlation with the war? are they fighting for that holy places? I don't think so, they are only fighting for the land, to decide whose "the owner" of the land. I don't care who support who; the fact if you talk about whose right or wrong in a war, it's like a question of which one comes first : the chicken or the egg. so better give the support to the UN to promote peace and stop the civilian victims.

I agree, stay out of it except to continue to sell Israel what they need to maintain their planes and tanks. AND stay out of EGYPT, LIBYA AND SYRIA and the rest of the Middle East until THEY CAN renounce terrorism, publically admit Israel has a right to exist and implement decent human rights laws rather than Sharia law. Until then, no more foreign aid to terrorists. NONE.

Obviously I have no problem with anyone, let alone Israel buying our old military gear. We should however, end *ALL* foreign aid. We simply don't have the money.

But doesn't the situation there affect US economy somehow? Making 'us' partly to blame no matter what happens?

The situation in Russia also effects the US. Can we go and dictate how the Russians handle Chechen? China's economy effects the US too. Can we dictate how they handle Tibet? No, I don't think we hold any blame for what other people do, unless we are specifically causing the problem. Otherwise, we should intervene in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and pretty much half the planet. There is no rational for bothering with Israel. And if anything, we should support Israel in suppressing terrorism. It would be hypocritical of us to do otherwise.

andy77e I agree that was one of the more intelligent things Obama said...even though he hasn't always bee a friend to Isreal..I still can't 'forgive' him for not meeting with Netanyahu and making a lame excuse he didn't have time to meet with all the leaders...

Oh like I said, obviously Netanyahu sent the Mossad to reprogram his teleprompter, because Obama is been nearly dismissive, if not nasty in his treatment of Israel otherwise. Which of course explains are exuberant popularity throughout the rest of the middle-east, especially in Benghazi Libya given Obama's support of the Rebellion against the demands of Israel. They are nearly willing to kill, just to thank our diplomats there.

The news on Israel is getting hot again. We cannot do about this and no body can really stop it. Even if Obama will act or not act, still the war between Israel and the surrounding nations is inevitable...
