How many hours you watch TV each day? Do you think it waste your time?

We do not have a TV soon, and will have one soon. I like watching TV, and may sit in front of it for long time, during doing housework, and while eating. Sometimes I think I am too addicted to it, and I have been watching it for whole day! It is wasting time. What's your situation? Do you watch TV for long time?

We usually watch television in our available time such as lunch break, or in the evening like prime time news, and late night TV movie marathons. it's our way of relaxing and be entertained from the busy day.

Mickey, when I was young and haven't married, i like watching tv a lot. In fact, i spent most of my time watching movies. I like watching many types of movies without feeling bored. Nowadays, i hardly have time to watch tv anymore. Mostly, i just watch news on tv. As for movies, i prefer watching through my computer. I think i am spending more time on computer since i can a lot of things through it.

Yes, you are right. The TV can run by itself as long as you switched on it. But, it is totally not the same as for computer. You will need to search for the correct site, to show you your favorite show.

myfb2009, thanks for sharing your experience. In some ways, computer is more convenient than TV, but TV is not replaceable. You do not have to think while watching, not like computer, you have give it a command. Have fun!

I did not own a TV for a very long time, then I broke down and bought a small one so I could watch football and baseball mainly. There are days and weeks that it isn't turned on, although I have been watching a few Christmas specials lately and will watch more as the season progresses, I'm sure. Even when I'm "watching" it, though, I'm busy with other things and seldom give it my full attention.

You seems to have a compact life. I want to watch TV for football games, on internet, it does not work, since it is too slow... Thanks for sharing!

Usually I will watch TV for almost 3-4 hours. I don't think it as a waste of time. while watching TV I will get some new information and watching TV also gives me a relaxation to me. Most of the time I watch TV when I am free and also when I need some stress relief. While watching TV I can also hear to some songs which is one of the most stress suppressor.

yeah i don't think watching tv is a waste of time. if all your watching is reality tv then i guarantee its such a waste of you time. there's so many channels and shows to choose from and a lot of it is educational and time management on your part to make your day fruitful. For me watching tv relaxes me and i just spends a good 5hours a day watching my fave show and news and current affairs. Its a good source of information so i think its not a waste of time.

i never count how long i watch TV in a day. but i can say that i seldom watch TV. i like to turn TV on but not watch it. i turn it on then i do something like browsing or even study together with my child. we have TV in our bedroom so we can watch TV while laying our body on bed. i used to like watching TV but when my daughter 'steals' it i seldom watch it. lol. she likes to watch cartoon or play VCD using VCD player which is relied with TV. so i watch FV to enjoy my favorite profram only when she has already slept. it is usually in the night up to 9pm. but then im so sleepy to watch it till midnight. so i can say that i seldom watch TV..

haha same as mine. I like switching it on then channel flip to what i like then leave it and do other things to make myself busy. I do this everyday because i like the background drone of the tv but not actually watching it.

Yes Yes Yes and Yes. haha. I don't have cable we have netflix which I think is cheaper than the cable or dish or whatever. However it is just as addicting if not worse because there are no commercials and you can pick when you want to watch what you want to watch. It really makes my family spoiled. However we try and do enough things without the television on if possible. The few years before being married I had no dining room and so I always ate in the living room in front of the television and was by myself so I just put a movie in or something while I ate so its a bad habit. I think the hardest part is when you have small children like I do it is even harder because of the want to turn on the television and just have them sit to be out of your way so you can do any cleaning or cooking.

Haha, it seems we have the same situation.. We need strong determination to control our time in front of TV. It is said that successful person averagely watch TV for less than 2 hours in a day, we should set them as our examples:) Enjoy your time and have fun!

I really don't watch much TV, as I dont have a TV anymore. I do watch it online normally on Beyond Scared Straight, or The First 48. I am watching a marathon right now online, and taking the night easy.

Frankly, I never watch TV. Stupid programmes where they make people do isiotic things only for a bit of money. Making a lot of noise has to go with it. If I want to watch a movie I rather play it on DVD. Very seldom I like watching NGC. And yes, I watched during election day in the USA. But that's all. As soon as the broadcasting systems will come up with quality TV I might start watching more but I'm not going to spend my time on all that silly nonsense they're showing now.

When I was a child, I'm very addicted to TV, I'll spent the whole day sitting in front of it. But when I grow up, I became less addicted to it because I have some other things to be addicted to, for example, computer.

I think TV has a big factor in our lives now. Its easy to relax when watching tv and its also a source of knowledge and enjoyment. I think it depends on the person if all he does is watch tv. Time management if you want to have things done but your fave series is starting soon. hehe. I don't feel so alone if I have tv droning on the background and im busy working or doing chores.

I have not figured out my Tv situation, but when I watch it it is usually something that I want to watch and am interested in. So you have to consider what is mindless watching and what is not. And if there is anything more important to do. I think right now with you it is a novelty and when we first got our tv, I would watch it at home and also watch it when I was doing the housework. I would say I watch about three to five hours a day and that also includes having it on in the other room and not really watching it.

Well, I do watch TV in very long time and you cannot say that you are just wasting your time as long as you felt satisfied about what you have watch then, that is not wasting time. Though I just watch TV starting from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm because we have tele-dramas to watch. So, if you think you are satisfied then that will be alright. More so, TV for me is also a break, or a relaxation session after an 8 hours work.

yes, I almost watch TV everyday for at last two hours when I at home. I feel that watching TV is a relax for me when I work a long time in the daytime. Although sometimes I feel like you that it waste too much time but I really enjoy it. maybe we should cut a few time in watching TV but I can't without it in my daily life.

Me too I am very much addicted to TV,when i was in school I used to do homeworks as well as read books by sitting infront of TV,and now also I normally spend 2-3 hours every sitting infront of tv and watching cartoons, wildlife channels and Tv shows....I guess watching too much TV is waste of time while watching for 1-2 hour per day doesn't do much harm in my opinion.
