What does a cat urinate against the footboard of my electrical bike?

a cat's urine against its chosen object - Why does a cat like to spray urine against the footboard of my e-bike? It is a problem.

On the first floor where we put out electrical bikes, those wild cats roaming around on campus love to snuggle comfortably on the leather seats of our electrical bikes. It is ok for them to snuggle there, but there are two bad things I do not like is the cat which snuggles on the seat usually does two bad things to our seats. One is: the cat that snuggles there on the seat often tears my leather seat with its paws. The other thing is: the cat urinates on my e-bike making a mark that is not easy to get washed. I have washed away the cats' urine for quite a few times. After I wash away the sign or ordor of a cat's urination, very soon another urination will be seen the next day in the morning. Also I see cats sitting on the top of a car parking under the tree. So I am wondering why a cat urinates on the footboard of an e-bike that it chooses to stay and snuggle on. Do you experience something about a cat like this? What is the real reason behind? Thank you so much for the response in advance. November 19th, 2012. 20:16p.m.

Hi williamjisir I have 5 cats and have leather sofas, I bought them a scratching board. They love it. And we wash with clorine where they have urinated. Or with crioline. They donĀ“t like both odors. I also cover my piano with a thick cloth, to protect it from their paws. I hope this could help you. Good luck! Blessings williamjisir... dainy

I did not know that you have five cats in the house. Then you may have to prepare a lot of food for them. I am wondering if it costs a lot to raise so many cats. But it is fun to have them for company in the house. I am sorry to say that I have no idea about the meaning of the word, crioline. I guess that it is something chemical used to washed the seat? Anyway, thanks for the response, dainy.

I am sorry, but your discussion is very amusing to me and I can't help laughing to read it I don't know why your electrical bike is so popular. Perhaps they like your smell and they want to show that your belongs are belonged to them and therefore they need to leave some marks on it

I guess that it makes those cats more comfortable sitting on my e-bike seat. It is funny of those cats to be always looking for some comfortable places for them to snuggle on.

The cat is marking its territory. Cover whatever space you do not want the cats with foil.

I have a foil cover over the seat. It is also ruined by those cats, although it helps protect the genuine leather seat. Thanks for the response. Take care.

they do it to leave their sent so other cats will not come in their vicinity. wash things you want them to leave alone with vinegar or even lemon juice. they dont bother with either sent. try that.

Cats and other animals will do this to mark their territory. So by doing this the smell is telling other cats, and animals hey this is my spot, each animal has it's own smell. Try Urine Off, I use it around my house, and even outside as stray cats will spray the building, or this or that. I find it works wonders, gets the smell out, and they wont spray there again.

Hello Ricki. I usually wash the cat urine off with water and a used towel for it. We have too many cats in our building. So I keep washing cats' urine.

They are marking your bike as their property to other cats.

A cat pees on items to mark their territory, so that other cats know that it is their place, also to let other females that are ready to be mated with that they are ready for them. The reason a cat will sit on something and snuggle is to keep warm, dry and another way of leaving their scent. The best thing to use to clean it is white vinegar with water, this tends to get rid of any scent, smell and some times stops the cat repeating the peeing.

Dear Williams I don't know the reason, here you will find so many stray cats, they enter my home when we open the main gate, today one entered and peed on my pillows; some times they pee and poo on my bed, nasty creatures

Hello Professor. I am so sorry for those stray cats that pee and poo on your bed, but I am even sorry for myself, for the mistake I made in the title. I hope the mistake in the title is found by readers. I mean: Why does a cat urinate...instead of what... When I was thinking about the title at the very beginning, I typed: What does a cat urination demonstrate? Later I changed the title, but I was careless enough not to have changed "what" back into "why". I am now feeling very bad about this, the mistake I made. I am truly sorry for it. Take care, Professor.
