A Blog or Writing Site

I feel it's good to stick with a blog than going with a writing site. These days writing sites are paying less compared to some years back. But having a popular blog can bring you lot of opportunities by way of writing product reviews. To make a blog popular one has to post regularly. What is your experience with writing sites or your blog? What do you prefer?

I've only recently started the blog so haven't had much experience of it yet. I do sometimes write for sites like ciao and dooyoo... it's not an income you could live off by any stretch but it can be fun and earn a few extra £££.
