i have been working for the company for more than 3 years now. at first i was really excited coming to work and meet my co workers, but its quite different now. i no longer like coming to work and i feel im just forced to do it because of the need of money. in short, im no longer happy with my current work. i think of switching to a different company or just establishing my own business would be better. what do you suggest? your opinion would be highly appreciated. thanks.

Hi rubrub!
Things like this happens to almost everyone. It happens when we do the same things everyday and we think we are not gaining additional knowledge by performing such job. Everyday routine is one reason why we get bored with our job. Similarly, the people we work with are also one of the factors.
But think of the time when we are just looking for a job. Think of the people who are looking for job but are not as lucky as you are. Having you own business can be a good alternative but we have to consider a lot of things before we enter this field.
As of now, you have to take some time to think about the pros and con of leaving your present job.

I agree, when you've been doing the same things for so long, you tend to get burn out and you feel like trying something new. Why don't you take a few days' off? Take some RnR, free your mind and body from your routine work for a couple of days just to refresh and re-invigorate your self. When you come back, I'm sure you will feel better. But if you are really decided on quitting your job, don't do it unless you already have a new one waiting for you. Times are hard, and there are hundreds of people for each job available. You're still lucky to be able to have one for a long time now. Good luck!

Oh, yes, Raine that is a very good suggestion. Taking a break can be good also. Anyway, whatever decision rub make, we are still here to support our friend.
Have a nice day!

I do have this kind of feeling during my younger years in life but when you get matured you do have another perspective in life that makes you to become eager in work even if you felt bored. Life has so much to offer. Keep on exploring things. If you think you have a better future in your current company then work hard and ask/apply for promotion later.
If you want to have business make sure that it's your passion. Also, it requires too much patience. BEar in mind that you need to do everything like paying bills unlike when you're working in a company that you don't need to worry for anything, you just wait for your payout.

I don't have any work so I think You should think that its Gods grace that you have a Job and I don't. So you should consider it as a good oppertunity to expand your horizons from there and think it in more intresting way.

nope, I just love what I do. Yes, leave the company if you are unhappy it is unhealthy also if you are, thus it affects your productivity. Your co workers could notice. If you still have time and you can still switch then go and find your new excitement and happiness. Estbalish your own business if you can, if you have the money an if you the time and talent. you can do it .. good luck

If you ask me if your not happy with your job then thats the time to move on.. what i mean is that look for a new company but since you already have 3 years experience with your position right now use it to applly to more higher position already or if you have savings then have a business but make sure and think twice of what business you are planning..remember that at business at first you still need to build it to people.. have a nice day!

If you are not happy with your job anymore, I guess it is time to shift into something that you will enjoy. Of course you have to consider your future as well as financial stability. Do not just decide to quit your job without a fall back. Sometimes in life we have to sacrifice in order to survive. But if you see prepared to and ready with your next move, go for it. Currently I am my own boss, and I do love what I'm doing.....

Hello rub,
That feeling really comes sometimes but it can be healed by pulling inspiration in order to regain back the excitement in the very beginning. But if the feeling persist better look for another job, but for me business of your own is best.

I am just like you. The longest I ever worked in any organisation is
3 years plus. Then I get bored unless I was promoted and given more
challenging task. If you are still young and full of creative ideas,
you may venture into business on part time basis and see where it will
lead you from there. Do not resign unless you have a better offer.

Hi,
It's job burnout, there's lots of reason for it. Try looking at you reasons for doing work and set you priorities right. Sometimes dissatisfaction arises from setting the wrong reasons for going to work. Mismatched skills also produces job dissatisfaction, try looking for one that matches your skills and talents, where you excel is where you shall be most happy, before you know it, you have succeeded in your field.

Considering I am currently working only as a freelancer composer, audio angineer and music technologist I can't say I will ever be bored of that. However I will need to move to a more steady job pretty soon, because with freelancing you can never be sure about your money. From past experience I know that I will get bored with a steady job within the first 2 years.:P

hey how are you doing? Good i hope, well let me first state, that hey be glad that you got a job. most of the people in this economy aint working. I'd love to have a decent steady job like you do, that you've been with the company for over 2years, but you shouldnt be in a job for that long, and still not happy with the type of job that you do. My opinion, is to keep the job that you got and until you can find a JOB that you'll like, then put in your two week notice in.

I think many of us have experienced this, I felt this at my past job which I was there for 8 years. Now with my current job which I have been at for about 3 months now. I find it comes down to the management in my positions. They expect a lot more out of you, and don't praise you or appreciate your everyday tasks. I would look for other positions, starting a business you need money behind you.

I have been working with my previous company till I am retired beginning
of this year. All in all I am with them for more than 25 years. There are
always times when we are not happy pressured by customers and bosses. If
you can find a better offer or have better and bright business option,
AND if you are still young, you may switch your job or start a new venture.
Good luck and all the best!
