Of course we all know that in the weeks leading up to Christmas, all of us as mothers are thinking about the things that our children would like to get for Christmas. We seldom think about the things that we would like to have for Christmas. But, I think that it is time that mothers think about the one gift that they would like to receive under the Christmas tree on Christmas morning. So, if you could find one gift under the Christmas tree on Christmas morning with your name on it, what would that one gift be?
For me, I would love to have a feminine camera bag for my DSLR camera. The reason that I would love to have one of these is that I feel like a nice, feminine camera bag (that could also be used as a purse) would be a great thing for me to take when we go to family events and it would reflect my personal character more than a traditional black camera bag does.

I really want a couple of picture frame to put the kids hospital birth certificate in them to hand on our bedroom wall. I would really like that. Of course there are other things I would like to have but those frames are what I really want to get this year.

That is such a neat thing that you would like to have and it is something that sounds very reasonable. I certainly hope that your husband will work toward making this wish a reality for you.

I imagine that they probably did. I know that my mother tries to get me what I want for Christmas when I am asking for something that is reasonable.

I didn't ask my husband for them, I asked my parents for them and I'm sure they probably got me something since I told them about it.

When I used to work, I would always have something for myself. That's my reward for myself. And, I would also think of what my husband would give me because he'd ask about it. But, this christmas, im having a hard time thinking of what I want. I don't need too many stuff because Im just staying at home.

Despite the fact that I'm staying at home with my children, there are still some things that I can think of that I either want or need.

Oh, I certainly do know that there are a lot of things that I can live without and what I really want is something that I can live without. But, I am also a person that seldom does anything for myself.

OH yeah, there will always be something we will want or need. Humans are insatiable. But of course, we can always live without it.

honestly, i really don't want anything. our 25th anniversary was in October and hubby bought me a tablet and i am really enjoying it. the tablet was something i had wanted for a while. i can not only read books on it but pretty much do everything that i need to do on it. i probably won't get much for Christmas as it was a little more than hubby intended on spending. i wouldn't mind some chocolates though.
the camera bag sounds nice. hope you get one!

Wow, congratulations on you and your husband reaching your 25th anniversary. It is great that he got you a tablet and that you are really enjoying it in so many ways. I think that you are right to not really expect anything for Christmas because of the fact that you did receive a very large gift for your anniversary.

That is VERY true! Lol. I know I won't get anything for Christmas because my husband and I only have enough money for the kids to have a good day but if by chance there was extra... My gift can't really go under the tree, Lol. I would honestly want a weekend in the mountains with my husband, in a cabin with a fireplace. Somewhere peaceful and relaxing!
Okay, back to reality now... Lol.

In a certain sense, this does sound similar to something that I want. Where I was in that car accident four months ago, I know that I'm going to be getting a settlement following the accident and I've told Tom that after I get my settlement, I would really like to be able to arrange for he and I to be able to take a cruise without the kids. You see, we seldom have a night out without the children and to have a vacation without them would just be heavenly.

I agree with you, I love my children with all of my heart and there is no amount of money that would be able to take them away from me. However, there does come to be some times that you just want a small break from them.
You know, I've been at home with my children for over six years, so I don't even get the break that many mothers do of going to work and being away from the kids for a short period every day.

I understand, my husband and I never have time away from the kids. I love being with them, I would just like a couple days for him and I to rekindle our love. I think every couple needs that sometimes!

It three weeks before Christmas and I am excited of course, haven't done anything yet though, but still, it's good to be excited. Good for you co's you have older kids already mine is one and it's her who is showered with gifts. I still need to wait more years before I can hope as you do. hahaha.
If I want a gift that would be an Ipod touch, I've been wanting that since it's first launch out, but up to now.. . the maker had returned to Jesus already and I still I have'n got any. So if I want a gift I want that. hahahaha. This thing is good for travel, specially when I have to travel longer hours.

You know, that is something that I would really like to be able to have as well. I've never had an iPod and my children just love playing with the iPod Touch that my mother has so I think it would be a great thing for us to have in our house.

I also feel like it is a really good thing when we realize that we can't always have those things that we would like to have. However, I really do believe that you will eventually have an iPod Touch.

All I want for Christmas is to see my Darling with a big red bow underneath my Christmas tree. Moved to Dubai recently and will be spending 2 Christmas here. It is so lonely because it will be our 2nd and 3rd anniversary that we will be spending apart. Looking forward, I don't think I'll be home for Christmas in the next 5 years so it is so lonely this holiday season. So if I have 1 gift to get, I prefer to have my Darling in my arms. "Santa, that's my only wish this year" - so as the song goes...

That really is a great wish to have for Christmas. I'm sure that if your darling was able to figure out a way to make that wish a reality, that would be something that would happen for Christmas.

Since I am older and have most things that I want I already did ask my kids for something I could actually use....I asked for adhesives....yup! Glue sticks, double sided tape, glue dots! I use them in my card making. And I use alot! I just ordered ten rolls of double sided tape and it cost me almost forty buck. I would love to have a big package just chucked full of different adhesives!

I don't think that there is anything at all wrong with asking for supplies that you can use in your crafting. If I was one of your children, I would personally make sure that you got some adhesive for Christmas.

I can completely see why you would like to have this for Christmas. I just can't even begin to imagine how a mother would be able to leave the country without her children. I know that I personally would never be able to do that.

Only one gift? Hee hee. Oh my gosh, there are tons of things I would totally want . . . and sometimes I think about getting things for myself while I'm out shopping around for others. But, I always put it back. I figure I don't really need it - it's a WANT and not NEED - so I am always thinking I can get it LATER. Personally, I would love a new digital camera. I don't have one of those smart phones, and I haven't liked taking pictures with those from people who have asked me to take their photos with their phones. The digital camera that I have is literally falling apart (we have it scotch taped together!) and it's not really focusing too well sometimes. So is this a want or a need? Anyway, I don't know that Santa will bring me that, but I can still hope - hee hee.

I was definitely thinking in terms of a want as opposed to a need. I mean I do have a camera bag that is still perfectly functional, but I would just really love to have one that does reflect my personality better than the one that I have right now.

Unfortunately as much as this is what I want for Christmas, I know that I will not be getting it for Christmas. However, that is okay with me because I will be getting one after the first of next year, once we've gotten our tax return and also my settlement from the car accident.

I have to admit that I'm really confused about your comment here. All I was asking was what mothers would like to be able to receive for Christmas if they were able to have one thing that they wished for.

That is something that was on my Christmas list as well. However, I also know it is something that I am going to be getting for Christmas this year because as soon as I got to Wal-Mart today to get the bikes for my kids, my mother had two different coats and asked me which one I would rather have. I know that it isn't an expensive coat that I'm getting, but I am happy with it and I know that it will last me for a few years.

That sounds like it would be a wonderful gift. I personally don't own any pearls, but I hope that one day I will be given the pearls that used to belong to my grandmother.

I would love to have a table as well, but I'm a fan of the Asus Transformer tablet and you can bet that I will be getting one for myself after either I've gotten my settlement or we've gotten our tax return back.

Oh yes, the health of my family is what matters to me the most, but I do sometimes think about the material things that I would love to be able to have. I also know that I won't be receiving those things, but it is nice to think about them.

What you said was true, i am also looking forward on receiving gifts this christmas and i already have plans on what to buy for my son.
Personally i don't have such things that i really wanted but if given a chance that someone would give me what i like is that to have a tablet. But i guess it is impossible since we are only poor and don't have that much money.

I too would love to have a tablet, but that isn't even something that I've mentioned that I would like to get for Christmas. Instead, it is my hope that I will be able to get one for myself at some point next year after we've gotten our DMP paid off and we get our tax money back.
