I know most of the people are think ohhhh what a silly thing but this is the experience of old persons. Whenever if we are going out of home or any guest are going out of home then if we feel sneez will start then our old family members say control it and dont sneeze. To control put the hand on nose like press both the nose then sneeze will stop.
Do you heard this sneezing is not good if someone is going from our house.

Hi SR You crossed 5000! Congrats..
About sneezing, yes even I have heard this thing from many people. Honestly I never believe such thing. There can't be any connection between sneezing and those bad happens.. It's just belief of some people. And I don't think we can control this thing every time.

Many consider this as bad, inauspicious, but none in our family believes, when we sneeze, we spray millions of germs in to air, so to prevent this it is better to put a cloth, if not your hands..
all our faiths, do, not do have valid reasons

It happens quite often with me, if I sneeze or any one in house sneeze, when someone is going out of the house, my mom asks that person to come in and sit once again before leaving. Reason I don't know, but I do know that it is some superstition.

i haven`t actually heard that kind of thing.. but what is the reason behind the not sneezing when anybody is going out..? what will happen if you sneeze.. in our family it is popular with us if your finished eating don`t clean your plate or don`t put away your plate because that person that left eating will not get married.. if his or shes still single..

Sneezing is the most natural way of our body to release freely an infection brought by our nostril to clear out the colds deposited in the nasal cavity areas.
One should never shield very close the nose and mouth when sneezing occurs,so that
the infection could go out off our body, yet other tend to closed their nose and mouth, which resulted in the transfer of the infection to other parts of the head. The most frequent areas that would be infected once you closed your mouth and nose completely are the throat, ear and parts of the nasal cavity. The next few
hour, you could know you have something itchy or might be painful in your ear or mouth areas.Better not sneeze with closed mouth and nose to avoid another infection.

We can not predict when we could have gotten the sneezing, yet when you sneeze I am
sure you got some colds in your nasal cavities. This is the time you are sneezing frequently as a sign your body was reacting to not welcoming the incoming infection that likes to enter our body.

Yes this is a superstition which is very much prevalent in India, but my observation is contrary, nothing bad has ever happened if someone has sneezed while I am going out. My mother stops everyone and says to wait for some time and then go. Anyway beliefs are beliefs, cannot be changed overnight.

Hi surekha!
I have heard about it that if you are going out and someone sneezes, you should wait for some time before going out.
The superstition looks odd to me because sneezing is a natural and involuntary activity, which at times is difficult to control. I fail to understand how sneezing could bring ill luck to someone.
Have a great day!

Hi dear
In South India, we don’t have this superstition. It is believed that somebody is saying something about the sneezing person or remembering the person. But don’t have a belief such, it is not good. Here in North India such belief exists. Once one of my colleague is about to make call and I sneezed, the person stopped the call, I asked what happened, the person said you sneezed so let me try the number after some time. Then only I realized about the superstition in this place.
When we sneeze our heart is stopping for a second. That is the reason, if any one sneeze people say, “God bless you’.

From what I understand, it is not wise to suppress a sneeze. If you are sneeze from illness, it is wise to stay home. Colds are caught so easily that it is super serious. There is something that one must do if he or she is to be out and about , and that is to cover a sneeze in a medically advised way. If someone comes to your home, you may want to warn him or her that hours are not feeling well, and he or she may shorten his or her stay. Have hand sanitizer handy for visits and such and offer it as an option. Especially after opening doors ans so forth.

hi surekharathi no I do not believe that, stopping a sneeze my doctor says can blow poisonous germy stuff up into your sinuses. covering your mouth and nose with a tissue so your sneeze does not spread virus to other people is good'
manners and good hygiene which we all should practice. I never stop a sneeze but I protect others from ge ting my germs with a tissue held over my mouth and nose.,

I've never heard any wives tales like this in my life. However, I also can't recall any time in my life where I sneezed when someone was walking out of my house.
Honestly, I don't see any harm at all in sneezing and I've never been able to control when I sneeze. There is only one time that someone I knowsneezed in their life that led to a bad result and that was my little sister when she was still in high school and she sneezed on her way to school, ended up hitting the gas in her car and totaled her car as well as seriously damaging a police officer's parked car.

It's actually dangerous to hold in a sneeze. You might bust a nerve if you cover your nostrils and the sneeze still occur. I think it's better if we just excuse ourselves after we do it. We can also find a very secluded area if we feel like sneezing to let it out, just in case it'll come with a breeze full of saliva.

Actually, I never heard that before. Maybe it is known to your country? Here in our country when somebody sneezes, we jokingly say that somebody must have missed having a bath coz the person who sneezed smelled a foul odor! Well, it is only a joke , of course.
