If you do, how many minutes advance is your clock at home? Ours is 15 minutes advanced because we have a student and she has to be in school before 7:30 am. So that we will not be late, we have set the clock 15 minutes ahead. However, the kid knows this and she keeps on reminding us of the real time whenever we ask her to hurry.
How about you? Do you set your clock ahead of time? How many minutes in advance?

Hi Cutie!
I appreciate your topic of discussion.
I also keep all my clocks and watches 15 minutes ahead of time and I've become habitual of it. I just can not keep the clock at the right time (except one clock).
I know this way I could remind myself that there are 15 minutes remaining for a particular task. I feel comfortable in this arrangement.

I still wonder how knowing the fact that my clock is running xxx minutes ahead of time would help me... I would still remain and do things as I am used to do. I did try this thing years ago but it never yielded any better results as I always knew it was xxx minutes ahead and I always had that time to spare

I missed you dearheart. I had been to your profile to listen to those great songs on your playlist but... since the last major glitch at MyLot none of those are on for anyone (me too)... And of course, I am not going to kill you... but where are my chocos

No, I have never seen any point in doing this.
I have known a lot of people who used this approach, but as you said it is something that they are aware of and that rather negates the whole thing. Whatever time the clock shows is totally academic if you know the correct time, so I have never understood the logic behind this.

Hi Asylum
Same with me mate. But ye, if anyone else had changed the time on my clock and without me knowing it, that might have helped but then there are so many clocks around ... the wall clock, the wrist watch, the cell phone clock, the computer clock...

It sounds like a good idea for some, and I have tried setting my watch ahead as well. Unfortunately, I am like your daughter and I tend to remind myself of the real time which means that I allow myself to slow down because of it. I am glad that this works for you, though.

Hi,Cutie18f!
Yeah, my case was similar with yours. I'm a student myself. Although now I don't do that anymore because I don't have any classes left for my senior year, I used to set my clock ahead of time too. Usually it was 5 mins. I'm punctual most of the time. So usually I would go to classes early anyway. But sometimes you never know. That's why I gave myself an extra 5 mins just in case. And it helped me a couple of times.
Have a nice day~

Dear one
So as a student you gave yourself extra 5 minutes... wonder how many more or less would you give once you move out of student life [kidding]
How are you and things at your end? and when are your studies completing.(I ask because I hope the studies have kept you away from here and once they are over, and you have some spare days before getting into the job, you would be seen around here more often)
missed yah

No I don't. I set my time as exactly what is it. I refer to a government agency website for the actual time in reference to GMT time. I don't see the point why would you set your clock in advance. If you are going to be late, you'll refer to your clock and tell yourself "Anyways, this is still 5/10/15/30 mins advanced."

Today time is money and therefore I don't want to be late. It is a good idea to set the clock ahead of time because you still have some minutes to be left. Usually I will set my clock ahead of five minutes. As I can already do much in five minutes.

Wow!!! great question for me I always like to set my clock ahead time. Because my danger and sweet hubby is lazy while going on out of station they not prepare hurry and stand in front of mirror again and again for comb and late for going to the station so I set the clock ahead and say ohhh God you will not get train time is already gone then they leave all other things and go for catching the train.

Normally I don't set the clock ahead , but in Hostel Life this was very important and in that days i set my clock time 15 minutes ahead and that was very helpful ...
Now i have completed my studies and now no tension about timings , therefore now i am relaxed ,,,

You may have noticed the annual tradition of daylight saving time has crept forward a bit. We used to spring forward on the first Sunday in April and fall back on last Sunday in October. But a couple years ago, Congress changed the date — adding more daylight saving time to the calendar.

I do not set my clock ahead of time, but my grandfather did for my grandmother when she was working when i was a kid. She found out he did that and she didn't always hurry up lol. If you don't want your daughter to know you have the clock set 15 minutes ahead then set it back to regular time and when she's out of the house set it up 5 minutes then other time when she's out set it up another 10 and perhaps she wont know. my grandfather only had the clock set 5 or 10 minutes fast but that was all. Grandma knew about it , but said she never told grandpa and never rushed to go anywhere lol.

hi Cutie18f,
i used to set my clock, phone, and watch ahead of time around 15 minutes advanced. but it never work out well for me because i knew i was still 15 minutes earlier when the time comes. so i ended up delay for 15 minutes or sometimes i even delayed longer than that noticeably.
so in the end i felt cheating myself was not a good idea and so i adjusted back to normal again. but at the beginning stage (after i adjusted back to normal time), i still thought that the time was 15 minutes earlier and so i always ended up late around 15 minutes or more, because of my usual delay again.
but now, i am already used to the normal again and i don't feel of wanting to adjust my clock ahead of time again.

Hi,
Yes, all the clocks in our home are set ahead of time. They are 10 minutes advance of time. I am a retired person. My son is doing job and he is not with us. We don't have to hurry up for the work. I am working as insurance adviser. But we have the habit of keeping the clock ahead of time.
