Hey guys, i was startled when my friend said about sleep walking, i mean i had seen sleep walking in movies but have never thought that such things can happen in reality also.
He said that his mother saw him sleep walking and she was shocked as well as surprised that his son was sleep walking and later on he went back to his bed and slept again. I got goosebumps when he was explaining. I thought sleep walking is shown in a lighter shade on TVs but it does happen in reality?
What are your thoughts on this? Have u ever seen anyone sleep walking? What could be the reasons behind sleep walking? Any ideas? Please do share your thoughts!

Thanks a ton for your valuable response. Yes i have talked to him regarding this problem and he was even shocked and surprised when i said him the entire incident and he said that he needs to consult a doctor very soon so that he can find a way out of this issue otherwise he would hurt himself while sleep walking. It is very scary as well as risky and i hope there must be some solution to this.
Just like u even i have never experienced sleep walking and even if i had done it i have never been informed by others. ha ha ha.

Yeah that is caused by working overwhelmingly and get tired yet their no time to rest you have to walk and do other things.

Thanks a ton for your response. Yes that might be one of the reason also. I have observed how people are working like crazy and they do not even think about taking some rest and giving some time to the body to rest and the result is the pathetic condition of the health and may be sleep walking is one of its outcome. I dont know how far this is good but then i hope people take rest and avoid any possibility of sleep walking at night.

Thanks a ton for your response. Oh my goodness, i cannot believe that your late husband was sleep walking ever since from his childhood and i know it must be very much annoying for u to chase him all the time so that he does not hurt him in any ways while sleep walking. I know it does take a toll on one's life and might harm you internally and externally also. I hope he never hurt himself or anyone while sleep walking. Did he?

Sleep walking is very common. I used to sleep walk as a child, I'd wake up in the morning with my feet all muddy as well as the bed sheets. My dad almost shot me one night, thinking I was a prowler because I was trying to crawl back in through my parents bedroom window. When I was in my 20's I woke up one morning about a half mile from my house. I wasn't wearing anything but a tee shirt, was barefooted and carrying a baseball bat, what was even more unusual I was coming out of the woods. A few years ago, four of my dogs had gotten stolen and for a few months my family had to hide my keys at night because I got in my car one night and sleep drove. I put almost 100 miles on my car and have no idea where I went. I haven't done any sleep walking in several years now, or at least not that I am aware of. Nobody else in my immediate family sleep walks. I think stress causes sleep walking. I don't know, but I do think that sleep walking can be dangerous, especially if you do like I did and get behind the wheel of a car. I know I went somewhere in my sleep because I lived alone and when I woke up at 4 a.m. my front door was open, my keys and cell phone were in a different place and my car was not parked where I had left it and I had driven out over a quarter tank of gas. That worried me, after that my son came to stay with me.

Thanks a ton for your response. Well it was quite scary to hear about the incidents following your sleep walking and i am sure the ones who had seen u sleep walking must be equally scared like me. I have never seen any such thing but have heard only. Yeah i have watched it on TV. It is quite dangerous when you sleep walk as u might do anything and u are not aware of such things also. U might also hurt yourself badly while sleep walking. Glad to hear that u have not sleep walked from several years and hope u do not.

Yes, sleep walking is quit real and my first encounter with sleep walking was my husband. We hadnt been married that at the time only about a month. It was about 1 in the morning he started to get up and do usual rountine of getting ready for work. I laid in bed and watched him carrying on puzzled at what was going on. Then he went into the kitchen so at that time I figured it was best to go in on the couch in the living room and keep an eye on him. He made a pot of coffee, sat down on the couch for a few minutes and then went outside at that time I got really concernt and got up and watched him. I seen him walk around both vechiles a couple of time and I could hear him mumbling. Then he came back in the house and looked at me and said what am I doing? and the went back to bed. I talked to his mom the next morning and she told me about sleep walking and that he use to do it all the time. I though wow that was the first time I ever knew or experience anything like that. I can remember one time my oldest son who is 13 when he was about 2 running down the hallway in the middle of the night and when I got up to see what he was doing he was sitting in the living room playing with his trucks I kept saying his name and he would answer me. So again I sat on the couch to keep an eye on him and he evenuntally laid down on the floor so I carried him back to bed. It can be heridity both of my sons and my youngest daughter does it. Im still not real sure what causes sleep walking.

Thanks a ton for your response. Well it was quite scary to hear about such sleep walking in your family. I mean it is quite dangerous as you never know what one might do while at sleep walking. U must be terrified while seeing such incidents happening in front of your house. Now only sleep walking ruins the person undergoing it but also of other person as that person has to look him or him and control it. I gotta know that sleep walking is the result of loneliness and stressful life but then children also does this. So i am also not able to figure out the reason behind this.
