So many discussions deleted....

In 2 days I think I have received 6 messages from mylot saying my response has been deleted because the discussion was deleted. Now I'm thinking twice before I bother to respond. I really don't want to waste my time if it's going to be for nothing. I know I have responded to one or two that I knew would be deleted but I did it to tell the member they need to do more than just a line to earn any money on mylot. It says right next to the box we type in that the more details you provide the more responses you will receive...but they should say the discussion will be deleted if not descriptive enough. Are you getting a lot of responses deleted or is it just me?

I think that this: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2690496.aspx should answer your concerns. Many people don't think about the Guidelines much when responding and MANY discussions are "poll type" discussions (or duplicate posts) which inevitably get removed. Nearly all the Notifications I get are for discussions which I already know will be deleted (and that's usually my reason for responding at all).

yes, I usually know the discussions I respond to will be deleted. I'm just trying to tell the writer that they need to do more than just one line when they are asking a question.

It doesn't bother me if people can't write more than one line. That is their look-out and they will either learn or complain that they "aren't earning enough" (when it will be possible to tell them why). I only warn people (once) if they are not observing the Guidelines in the hope that they will actually read the response before it's deleted. After that, it's up to them.

There have been quite a few discussions deleted recently, but as long as people continue to create discussions that contravene the Mylot guidelines then the trend of deleting them will continue.

It seems to be just the newer members who do it because the rest of us know how to make our discussions worth reading. There's nothing that can be said when someone writes one line or just asks a question.

most importantly it should not be poll type or some sort of simple and lame used up discussion,it must differ and it must be meaningful

It's hard on a big site like this not to duplicate a discussion. The thing to do is just word it differently so it doesn't sound exactly like another one. Yes, they have to be meaningful discussions too.

Yeah that is true. It is hard to know if some discussion duplicate because hundred thousand or maybe million post here. We dont have time to search it 1 by 1.

I have only posted a few things, most of mine is from responding to other posts. I know that when I first signed up someone said to make sure that my answers were 3 lines or longer so I spell most of my words out so that I can make the cut off, if you know anymore information that would be wonderful.

No, I have nothing to add other than just make it as descriptive as possible which means more than one line and makes sense.

I tend to be too helpful to people who write one line discussions and I have to get away from that idea. And one line is not always a poll, sometimes the writer goes on and on and it rinds up to be a poll. I think that we could answer them in a message, but that would make making them our friend and it should be more then that boo boo they made. I think one has to be specific and give detail and also to see what discussions that may be deleted. Of course, that would mean copying every post you answer onto your hard drive and no one, at least, wants to do that. Also I know that my lot does not like questions of how they make their money and what method they use. And how much money someone makes. I guess to me it sounds more like boasting.

hi ctryhnny to be s ure of whether or not a discussions has broken a rule you need to go to guidelines and read the dos and do nots of making discussions as there are more than just one line stuff most often those are polls polling a bunch of people and that is one do not and there are more so read for yourself and jot them do n so' you can refer occasionally to them. if you know all the do nots then you can avoid all the ruled breaking discussions and save your responses and your earnings too.

One basic thing for the discussion (either you create it or you respond to an existing discussion) is to make atleast soem basic sense. I think only that is needed rather than occupying the whole page with contents. Whatever you try to say, say it clearly and be descriptive enough for it to make some sense to the reader who reads it. Thats all is needed to be active in myLot.

If you respond to a discussion thats really just a poll it will more than likely be deleted. Maybe looking at the faq's at the bottom of the page will help you. Good luck!
