i have seen that big company like Apple selling refurbished MAC computers. and also some products like samsung tablets being sold as refurbished in ebay. and so i am just wondering if it is as good or almost as good as brand new. as we know that the price of this refurbished products is lesser than the brand new. so if i am considering to save money, i was thinking if i should consider buying refurbished like cellphones.

I've bought a few items refurbished that I could think of. One being my cell phone. I bought a Droid through Verizon refurbished. The refurbished price was $50. I had a contract credit of $30 which I applied to that, and got the phone for $20! That was 2 years ago. The phone still to this day works great, and I really don't want to get rid of it, but I get another credit and upgrade in February, which I'll probably just take because it's there. They also have the buy-back feature, and I can get $20 for my phone. So, in reality, I have been using a free phone for the past 2 years! Not too shabby! lol
I've also bought a washer/dryer refurbished. Still have them, as well, after 3 years. Just be smart about it.

It WAS a great deal! lol... and yes, it was under a contract. They give you a credit at the end of your year contract. The new contract was a 2-year contract, so that's the one coming up in February. Can't wait to see the deal I can get THIS time! haha!

The overall concept of purchasing refurbished products is fine, it offers the opportunity to those who either cannot afford a new item or do not consider the outlay worthwhile to acquire products at a more tolerable price.
However, despite the fact that I consider the practice serves a purpose, I would be very reluctant to purchase a refurbished computer. The principle is the same, but somehow I feel that I would never be fully comfortable with a refurbished computer and be constantly apprehensive about potential problems.

If they're selling it for half the price, I guess it's okay, but if they're selling it for the original price, I don't think that's right. I'd rather buy from the main provider than from eBay. If the merchant is saying that they're Apple, I wouldn't believe it. A friend once nearly got dupped by a merchant saying that she's a representative of a big telecom company here. She was trying to sell my friend some cheap plans that, according to her, were about to be released for a few months and that my is one of the selected few who can avail it in advance. Of course, it comes with a fee. How stupid does she think we are.
