So, this year for Thanksgiving, I'm going to try my hand at baking a pumpkin pie. Of course from a can. I figure, what can go wrong? Ha! Let's hope it comes out okay. Otherwise, my family will be very disappointed! Booo! Recipe calls for cloves? Does everyone put cloves in it?

Cloves are a typical Holiday spice and they smell wonderful in what ever you put them. Cloves, nutmeg, ginger, and cinnamon are common pie spices. I put these in pumpkin bread also.
It should come out okay- just follow the recipe and it should be great!

You mean ground cloves right? Yes, I just looked it up. Cinnamon, ginger and ground cloves are in it. Not the whole cloves but ground cloves. There have been times when I was out of the ginger and the cloves and did not have the extra $ to buy both of them so instead I bought the pumpkin pie spice mix. Comes in a spice bottle, usually made by McCormick. The recipe for the pie is a little different when you use the pumpkin pie spice but the directions are on the spice bottle. Good luck.
