i have had this pillow for like more than half of my life now. it's really an ordinary pillow. not the usual cottony pillow though. it has actually firm wool inside.
my mom has told me to dispose of it because there are already some holes in it aside from it's really dirty. But i just can't. maybe because i just feel comfortable hugging and kissing it. it has in it all my tears i cried at nights when i'm really sad and all the saliva that came out of my mouth whenever i had beautiful dreams. it's like my best friend listening to everything i can't say. i just can't let go of it right now.
i wonder if there are some things that makes you really feel comfortable.

I really do not have something that I have clung on from my childhood. But I just remember wanting to be surrounded by all my toys when I go to bed at night. That gives me comfort. I don't remember when it has stopped.
But my husband has clung on to his habit of sleeping with a mosquito net wrapped all over him. When I first found out about it, I really laughed hard coz he is a big guy and seeing him all curled up in bed with the mosquito net looks really funny.

my sister has he same habit of your husband. she really feels uncomfortable sleeping without the mosquito net wrapped around her legs.

Hahahah! That is so true! It just goes off my legs even if I barely moved an inch from my side of the bed.

One of our pet dogs had his favourite carpet. It was one that was all torn and yet he would want it while sleeping. I understood my dog and now I understand you!

Welcome to Mylot, I can fully associate with your comfort pillow, no matter what age we all need something to comfort us whether it's a pillow, food, companionship, dvds or even teddy bears. My comforter is actually a teddy bear I have had him years and if he could talk, wow he would tell you some stories he's seen. He goes everywhere with me, and sits on my bed, even at 41 I am not ashamed to say that when I need comfort I go to him and give him a hug.

well there are some things other people can't understand. well, it's your life so you should never care about what other people will say. i see nothing wrong with a teddy bear.

what makes me really comfortable is my blanket... i love this blanket so much. that even on my travel i carry it with me. some told me to replace it because i already have a family and we need a new one... but I choose not to. because it's ok i can still use it and it still make me warm during cold nights.

i also am like that. as long as i can still use it, why not buy a new one? and more importantly, you won't feel the same if you buy a new one.

Sometimes the only way to progress is to move on. I think your pillow has served its purpose. It was there during your happy and sad times. At the same time, it was there whenever you're awake or sleeping. It was still in your bed even you left him together with the other pillows to join and hangout with your friends. Your mother is right, the pillow is old and wornout. It needs to find eternal rest and it is sure that your next pillow will due the same duties that it did.

you know what i still kept it. maybe there will come a time when i can let go of it. i'm really kind of sentimental that's why i can't just throw it away.
