Dining room, bed room and aquariumIn olden days the meals were taken in the kitchen itself but now the dining room has become an integral part of the drawing room. As per Vastu; the dining table should be kept in South-East.

Bedroom is the place where we should sleep peacefully, as per Vastu, it should be in the West and South directions and the flow of its drains should be towards North-East.
Commode should be South or West facing.

Exhausts fan can be fixed on North and East walls.

Geysers should be South-East since it is 'Agneya' corner and Geyser is associated with heat.
Many like to keep fish in an aquarium, as per Vastu, one should have one with 9 gold fish and one black fish, in the north east corner/portion of the house or factory.
I have bought one medium sized aquarium with 9 gold fish and one black fish and a 30 liter Geyser today; they will be kept in directions as per Vastu.
Do you have aquarium, where you keep them?

Do you use Geyser to heat water in bathroom or prefer cool water for bath?
I prefer cool water throughout the year; I find it more refreshing.
Please respond and share your comments and opinions on this.

Hello Professor2010 Ji,
Well, whatever you say may suit well to many, but recently I had a big doscussion with many Developers at Indian Silicon City and no one could meet my basic requirement as below :-
1. Five bed rooms
2. Two court Yards (Aangan)
3. Two Halls
4a. Two drawing rooms
4b. Puja Ghar
4c. One big dinning hall to accomodate fifteen persons.
5. Three balconies/Utilities
6. Garden
7. Ancilliariy facilities for fifteen members
Here I wish to view my personal view that after introduction of Bed-roomes and hall concept, meeting with guest has become public road. There is no place to talk with guest other than halls. In olden tim ewe had drawing rooms exclusively for guest. As per my hindu mythology 'A COURT YARD' must for all houses, where combined members can take part on special occasion speciall during Hindu rituals, where 'MANDAP' IS ETRECTED.
Present living has been entirely different.
May God bless You and have a great

Is the construction over now? I think there are Vastu specialists who can guide you, yes courtyard is must to perform puja, marriage etc, now people make small houses, with attached toilet; in our days toilets were far; many preferred the open field far away; walking there was automatic morning walk..
Thanks for sharing.

I had to check out the word "Vastu", Bhuwan. You have given me a lot of homework and a lot of knowledge. I made my house with my husband according to my needs. I was the "architect" and he built it with some workers. My house is 2 stories high, but the main room, against all uses here, is in the main floor as I am very much afraid of earthquakes. I`m sure that each way of designing a house has a reason, be it practical or spiritual. I use warm water in my bath. But I remember that I had only cold water In Cartagena de Indias, Colombia (the Caribbean) and it was just right.

I love to search online. It`s so easy to get the knowledge we are looking for. It has been ages since I last opened my encyclopedias and I assume they are obsolete. For me, at least, they are as they are too heavy for my hurting joints.

We do have a very small aquarium in our house in an our small aquarium, we have one beautiful blue betta fish, who is aptly named Blue Baron. His aquarium is placed on the lower level of our mantle and it is close to being on the most easternmost point of the mantle. I would love to be able to have a large aquarium, but we really don't have any room for a large aquarium in our home.
As far as our water goes, we have a natural gas powered hot water heater in our home and though it doesn't always work exactly the way that it is supposed to, it does work and ensures that we have hot water that is available to us for our showers and bathing needs.

Thanks for sharing in details
Big aquariums are difficult to maintain.
I heard about the natural gas powered for the first time

hi,
that belief usually came from the Chinese people and their culture, and because here in my country many businesses Chinese man/woman exist and stayed, and they really influenced the belief of many citizen here like having an aquarium inside of the house is a good luck for the wealth of the owner.

hi professor!
yes i have geyser and thank God it is automatically in the right place as stated by you...but professor i am not too much believer or u may say i m not exactly the follower of all these...though I have lot of interest in vastu...but everything cannot be followed according to our existing home...if we are building a new house or bungalow then we can definitely follow them...another thing is that i think the more we get involved in these facts the more we are confused....am i right???

Yes you are right, we can follow the guide lines while building a totally new building in a open space, with free space ..
as the opinions differ we certainly get confused.
Thanks for sharing.

Hello Sir,
I am living in a rental house with 2 rooms and the kitchen and bathroom is not attached with the rooms but outside of the room (The structure of the building is like that). I believe there no building is constructing here according to any ‘vaastu’. For the same reason I hardly think about or bother about all these things. Here the building are making mainly to get income from that by giving it for rent. But in our native, before starting the construction of work, all the details are considering and constructing according to it.
I may consider all these things once we make our own home.

Sree beti
Most builders never follow vastu, all they want is money from rents
You better consult a good specialist when you construct home in home place..
Thanks for sharing.

While I am not a big believer in Vaastu, I think otherwise also a house should be planned in a way
that heat/water/wind and considerations of convenience are balanced and one can live happily.
Anyways, great ideas that you have shared.

We live in my husband parents' house and as far as i have observed it wasn't done to follow any of what you said nor the Chinese's Fung Shui, professor.
Our bedroom windows are in the east because the sun shines through them every morning. And so far, i like it that way, because when i pray in the morning i can see the dawn breaking.
We have a hot and cold shower, but i would always use the tap water because i find it refreshing. In addition, it doesn't dry the skin, professor.

Here in india the houses usually face east, mine too; if you sit in the lawn you enjoy the sunlight in the morning..
Thanks for sharing about tap water.

Sir,
Thanks for the info on Vaastu, really helpful. But i always get confused as the directions used in Vaastu tips are the directions (i.e. north-east/ south west etc) of a particular room or the entire house?
Yes we do have geyser and that is in the east side of the wall of the bathroom but i have no acquarium though my children wanted one for their study room - recently constructed but yet to be finished.
regards,

It is not for the room, but for the entire house, if ever you build a new house in an open plot, you can consult, so that the plan is made as per vastu guidelines..

Hi,
My house is not built as per the rules of vastu shastra. It is not so that I don't believe it. I don't have aquarium in my house.
I always like to use warm water in summer and hot water in winter for bathing. So I have geyser in my house. I use cold water very few times when it is too hot in summer.

Hello
Well many don't believe in this, because if you read different books, consult different specialists you get different opinions.
more over at times it is always not possible to follow, more so in old paternal buildings
Thanks for sharing.

AAhh.. feng shui professor. Do this stuff works? I mean for sure
it depends on anyone who believes.
But should I do it first in order to believe or should I believe
first for me to see the result? I associate this with supernatural
beliefs but sometimes since life is full of mystery, they work.
So maybe it's not bad to try.
