I slept last night and I was fine, I just went to bed a bit later than usual. This morning I woke up very early (earlier than my alarm) and I had a stuffed nose. My body hurts and I feel weak. The weather has changed lately and I got sick for some reason. I don't remember being cold outside or getting wet from the rain. Anyway, I made a warm milk with honey and I will rest. I am taking the day off and hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow.
Do you get sick easily? I get sick if someone else is sick around me with a flu, but the good part is that it doesn't keep me down for days, the flu is lighter on me.

Sometimes when all my kids get sick one after the other, I would catch it last. But I am glad that it does not happen that often coz it is really difficult to be sick and still have to be up early everyday to tend to the needs of the kids before going to school.

Well, you don't have room to become sick when you become a mother!
But seriously, I often catch cold and cough when I was younger but when I became a mother, I do not get sick that often. I think I just get sick when I feel really tired and lose so much energy, then my resistance becomes low. But even if I was sick, I do still get up and do things. There was one time I was shivering and had slight fever which I think was brought about by Urinary Tract Infection. But I remembered that I need to do the laundry coz my kids' uniforms are all in the hamper for washing. Just the same, although I was feeling dizzy, still I managed to do some of it. But an hour later, I went to the ER, coz my fever has gotten worst. I just hate having to leave the kids with my husband coz I feel that my husband couldn't do as much as I do for the kids.

It sounds like you were in bad shape that day so you had to visit the doctor! If you always take care of the children by yourself then your husband probably doesn't know how to do everything. In that case you can leave him instructions, I am sure that he did well that day!
Having fever always makes me weak and I have to stay in bed for days. I only have runny nose and sore throat until now, I hope it goes away soon!

I don't have children but I know that it's hard to take care of yourself, it must be 2 times more if you have to make sure that the kids have all they need too. I remember that my mother never got sick when me and my brother had a flu. She probably has a strong body!
I think that if I have children one day, and based on how easily I get sick, I will get sick before them! lol

Taking some rest would be the great thing to do when having a flu. I actually do not easily get flu it is rare for me to get that. But When it does, the heck it really weakens my whole body.
I hope by tomorrow you will be fine! have a great day!

This is winter. You must have caught cold.I would like to suggest you to take warm water boiled with turmeric powder mixed with it.Or else, visit a homeopathic doctor.I hope, you will get well soon.
Fortunately I have a good resistance power.Seldom do I catch cold or cough or fever.I take daily exercises and walk long distances.I do yoga as well.Perhaps that's the reason that I don't fall ill.

I get sick very easily, since I was a child. But I don't get high fever like other people, I usually have runny nose and sore throat, and feel the body weakness.
I don't like being sick, that's why I avoid people with a flu! :) This time maybe it's because of the weather change, I am going to wait for it until it makes the cycle. I have become an expert at my symptoms by now!
I just have to be careful and dress with warm clothes.
Thanks for your advice!
I am sure that exercise helps a lot, I have stopped doing any exercise since the summer, maybe I should start again!

when i wake up with swollen tonsils, i know i will get sick. so to avert it, i immediately take vitamin c, paracetamol (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and lots of water. it works. hope you're better now. take a nap once in a while.

I am drinking a lot of orange juice for vitamine C. A doctor told me once to get the vitamins in supplements if I feel like I am gettimg sick. Before I go.to sleep at night I take a panadol to lighten the symptoms for a few hours. Warm soup and hot beverages with honey help me a lot as well!
It's the second day today, I hope tomorrow will be the last day!! I will have to go to work and I don't want to feel so weak!

Hi besweet, i do get sick easily nowadays as the weather is really unstable. It is always raining and hazy, so the air is quite stuffy and dusty. I have a very sensitive nose, so it is very easily infected and gets runny nose and watery eyes.
My other problem is that i couldn't get in touch with rain. If a slight drop of rain hits my head, i have to be prepared to get sick.
I will get headache, then fever and red eyes. Once i am sick, it will be for long before it will recover.
So i don't really feel comfortable if i am going to get sick regardless what sickness it may be.

It's because of the weather change, our body needs time to adjust and more people are getting sick around us. You should be careful because slow recovery is tiring and makes us weaker.
Thankfully, I recover relatively fast but if I am not careful after recovery, I might get sick again with worst symptoms.

Yeah, will be more careful especially in my eating habits too. I love to eat spicy food, and it is the main cause that gives me sore throat.
So, like you said, i need to be careful...otherwise i would fall sick again. I am getting sick very often now. Doctor said we should eat more vitamin C and drink more water.
Vitamin C can help us boost our immune system so that we don't get sick easily.

I spend more time at work than spending time at home. I mean when I am in our boarding house, I don't keep in touch with my housemates there only with my roommate, my sister. So if my sister has a cold or a cough, then there's a tendency for me to be sick too or vice versa. At work, there are more of us there so there's a bigger possibility for me to get sick there than at home. So far, nobody's sick around me. Yeah, you have to take some rest. It's good that your flu is not that serious.

I am going out after work sometimes or I meet with friends and it's easier to catch a flu if someone is sick around me. This time, it could be a cold from the weather change or a flu from a friend who told me that she was sick 2 days ago, after we had a long coffee together. She should have told me earlier but I thought I wouldn't catch it!

Hi,
I don't get sick easily due to the people having cough, cold or flu around me. But I have acidity problem. If I eat very hot or spicy food I feel very restless and can't sleep well at night. Then the next day is bad for me.

Maybe you should take a look at your stomach. My boyfreind has the same problem and he doesn't want to go fo a check up, but sometimes it bothers him with small things like chocolate or coca cola.
You must have a strong body in general, usually the stomach problems start suddenly, from something that bothered you once, and then you must deal with them for many years.

Sounds like flu. You made the right decision to stay in bed and nurse yourself back to health before it gets any worse. Rest and enough fluids should help. The weather back here is crazy, and most of my friends also caught the colds because of the sudden weather change. Hope you feel better soon.

The weather changed suddenly here too, and during my trip this weekend it was sunny and warm. But when I came back the day was cold and rainy. Many people get sick from the weather change. I hope your friends will get better as well! Be careful not to catch the flu yourself, it's more dangerous when they are getting better!
