The Hobbit, the unexpected journey movie coming this december

hello! has anyone read the book about The Hobbit? i know it's the first book of the Lord of the rings trilogy, and will be shown this december 2012. I'm very happy and excited about it and surely gonna watch it.
I have the book though. And it's one of my favorite books. Can't believe when i saw the poster at the movie house coz i really wanted it to be shown in big screen. it's gonna be a hit. can't wait!!!

I'm also excited to watch this movie with my son. Aside from liking the other three Tolkien movies, he has been curious about this ever since I told him that I've watched the animated version of The Hobbit when I was about his age. We actually had a tape (no DVDs yet back then 
) of it but it deteriorated through time and it's non-viewable now. But the animated one somehow deviated from the book a little. Well, I only realized it when I got to read the book.

wow... that's amazing. it's very fascinating to know people like you got some old stuff like that in their closets once, that's now famous. i got old cassette tape of Pink Floyd too back in 60s or 70s from my dad. it's fun to have old stuff. anyway, i'm really looking forward to that movie and will enjoy it a lot.

I am a Tolkien fan and I'm really disappointed with Peter Jackson and the whole cast and crew for being responsible for the deaths of more than 20 animals while making the movie. Tolkien was even kind to trees so the hole 'Tolkien fan' they keep trying to make us believe they are was proven not to be true, I'll boycott cause the movie is not 'Vegan' persay.

This is the first I've heard of this story..is that from during filming the LOTR movies,or during the Hobbitt?

I also have read the book and my hubby has too. It isn't my favorite book but i did like it so much and also can't wait for the movie. It is however one of my hubby's favorite books and he has the movie on tape. The animated version from the 70's so he is excited to see this one in Dec 2012. I am also very excited about seeing this movie and can't wait.

I read the whole trilogy years ago when I was in middle school. Since then, I think I've gotten rid of the books but I kind of wish I hadn't so I could reread them again. I was young when I read them and I think I'll appreciate them a lot more if I read them now.

I haven't read The Hobbit or The Lord of the rings, but have seen the 3 parts of The Lord of the rings.
I am a big fan the movie The Lord of the rings, I am also exited with the release of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, I will surely be watching the movie ....
