I think most people owned a personsl mobile phone. Even kids as young as 5 years old knows how to send message already. Mobile phones has become a very thing in our day to day life. If your mobile phone is left at home what is your feeling? Do you feel complete as go to your destination? or go back you way in order to get your mobile phone? How do you classify mobile phone now adays, is it a necessity or a luxury? As for me, i find it already a necessity because I can easy contact my loves ones wherever they are and when i left my mobile phone at home, i definitely get it for i felt helpless without my mobile specially when an emergency arises.

Mobile phone is a necessity now as almost everyone is using one daily for all kinds of purpose. When everyone is using mobile for their personal communication needs, mobile is a necessity if you want to be contacted anytime. The heavy usage has made the mobile phone something you can't leave your home without.

Its true jkct02, our personal mobile phone has become our best buddies. It holds as if our life is in there -from secret messages to family contacts to friends and network friends. We become dependent on the mobile phone because we dont memorize contacts numbers already. Somehow it also curtail us of having a good self discipline - for example we use our mobile phones as alarm clocks and become dependent on it.
Thanks for the response.

Agree with you jkct02, nowadays mobile phone is very important in our daily life especially for those who are dealing with customers, clients. It is a must to bring along mobile phone with us to any places which we are going to. Just like we cant leave our identity card at home. So as we cant leave our mobile phone at home. Like the other day, my mobile phone broke down suddenly which caused me lots of difficulties in contacting my contacts. Luckily the price for a mobile phone with simple function, which is calling and sending messages is not expensive anymore since smart phone is going to take place of old model mobile phone. So i quickly bought a mobile phone with price RM70 and everything is back to normal.

I think it's a bit of both really. It depends on what kind of phone you have. If you have a smartphone, then it's luxury and business mainly because you either use it for the apps like Facebook, Twitter and youtube, or for work. eg. emails, word, spreadsheets.
But if you have a 'cheap phone', you more than likely use it just for phone calls.

In current condition, I will say that Mobile is a necessity not for luxury. That was old days when everybody think that Mobile can only carry by rich people only. But now everybody has mobile....

For me mobile is necessity because I not like to pick the picture on it. Not taking photo means use simple mobile only for calling and sms. I not like high range mobile for showing off.

hi,
for me they are both, for necessity and for luxury, necessity because we need to communicate to our love ones, family and friends and even at work too,but we can call it as for luxury when the model of the phone is really expensive and when we have many of it.

Mobile phone is really a necessity for us, but mobile phones with extra and advanced options are really a luxury one. Mostly youngsters are interested with this kind of luxury phones and spend most of their time with it. Mobile usage is based on individual wish, if we use it in a good way for our needs, then it is necessity for us if we use it for advanced functions then it will be luxury

In my opinion a mobile phone is necessary for me that means it is not a luxury. Every time my mobile will be there always with me. Even if I forget to take it, I will go back and take it. Even today when I get down to my office, I forget to take the mobile and went back only for taking it. Because without mobile phone I feel lost.

Because of the fact that I've had a cellular phone since I was seventeen years old, I have to say that for me having a cellular phone is a necessity. It is the only phone (aside from my husband's cell phone)that we have in our family and I really don't want to have a landline phone where you are out of contact when you are away from home. In fact, I have to say that I really hate it during those rare times when we are away from home and in a location where the phone doesn't have any kind of reception.

i think cellphone is a necessity nowadays. it makes people's lives easier. but if you crave for expensive and high end phones, that will be necessity. cellphones doesn't have to be expensive. as long as you can call and text.

I think cell phones are both. They are a necessity because now days our very lives are made to exist around them. They're a luxury because of internet and apps.

Due to high technology innovations, communications nowadays has been likewise increasing to its broadcasting system, the timeliness, relevancy and accuracy of delivery and dissemination of its information. As for me, mobile phone is a necessity because it is the handy devise which generates a fastest way of communication and notifications compared to any form of correspondences. It can be called luxury however, if it will not derive to the objective of proper usage in transferring information, as they will bought it for public display or in boastful interests, and if it's not warrants based on the essential needs of a person.
