I was sitting and thinking the other day. Thats dangerous for me.
anyway, as I was purchasing the turkey, I realized I have made 41 turkeys!
I am 60 so I announced to my husband this will be the last turkey I make.
I enjoy the cooking, but not the mess anymore. There is only my son and husband and his mother and me.
I remember making my first turkey for the WACS that were not able to go home at age 19. We had a beautiful barracks that included a kitchen and diningroom.
I remember my First Sgt smelling the cooking from her office and came down the hall to see what someone was doing.
When she saw what I was doing she was just amazed that since I was having to work that weekend too that I was so gracious to make the girls in our barracks a homemade turkey and dressing.
But I think 41 birds later, I am exhausted. Anyone else giving up the bird?

That's a lot of turkey! A woman on another site said she was going to do a roast in the crock pot, and if her family didn't like it, they could do all the work next year, so your not the only one.

yea it was exhausting. I guess some of it has to do with my ailments too.
I will make cornish game hens or duck.
