Hey Mylotters!
I am getting a little more nervous as the time of my phone interview is coming up. At 11pm tonight, I am scheduled to talk to my future employer for the first time about my new job in KSA. The interview is over Skype and I am worried about how it will be so late at night. I have had a few of these kinds of things before with other jobs, but I always get nervous for some reason. I really want this job, and as things at my current job are getting worse, I don't want to jeopardize it. Do you have any suggestions on how to have a good phone interview?
Have you ever had a phone or Skype job interview? How'd you prepare?

Thanks, I am pretty confident about my qualifications and ability to do the position well. However, I just made my first screw up! Since there is a 9 hour time difference, I made a mistake with the day. I guess it was supposed to be last night, not tonight! I hope I can make it through that blunder!

Here are a few recommendations for you to keep you awake late in the night and fresh for the interview. Have a short sleep in the late afternoon. And then 1 hour or so before the interview have a nice bath and freshen yourself. Have a hot cup of coffee or drinking chocolate prepared just before the interview which you can intermittently sip during the interview if you do feel a bit sleepy. Also, I would recommend having an early dinner so that you are not full during the interview which will also help you keep awake.
If it is a video conf call on Skype then you need to look fresh as well. So take the call on a table and probably be dressed formally for the interview.
Cheers!

I think you should just calm yourself and give the best that you can. As much as possible, do not show any doubt with your responses. Even though the interview will be only via Skype, still the interviewer will detect your feelings.
I had a lot of phone interview via Skype when I was applying for work online. I really do not think so much about it coz it gets me more nervous. But the funny thing is, when I do get nervous, that is the time where I could really express myself more.
You should not feel intimidated if the interviewer seem to be strict. Just know what you are saying and be yourself.

Good luck! I hope you get the job. Just relax and think that you can do it. Nothing is impossible when you believe in it!. I had my phone interview last time when I applied for a job. I feel so nervous when I knew it was a job interview but as interview goes by I am fine.
