My concerns of users being prescribed methadone for pain. My life experience.

I bring this discussion forward because I was in a afc home and my roommate was a past user and was prescribed methadone from a doctor for his back. The outcome of the whole thing is something I have to live with. Between the misuse of methadone and other pills, brought my roomate to his/her death and I was the one that found the room mate in that state. So I have a strong concern when it comes to old users or still users of pills that use them inapropriately. Any others out there have any concerns about methadone or any other pills being prescribed to past drug users or pill abusers?
