Year ago, i started a discussion about how it was so painful to apply or renew a passport here in the Philippines... and now, in a few months my passport will expire and i need to renew it... i wonder if the process is a lot less painful now this can be done in malls with a DFA office...
Have you tried this?... or do you know someone who acquire or renewed a passport in a mall?

I have tried this. I applied for my passport and I have chosen to get it from Megamall. It is by schedule, yes and the process had been quick and uneventful. It is really easier to apply for a passport now than it is 3 years ago.

Good for you... I am glad that you shared your own personal experience... so it is true that the DFA finally did something about making passport application and renewal a lot easier for us Filipinos... it was really such a pain 3 years ago... and now... i only need the funds then I am off to the mall to get my schedule...
Thanks for the response...

I guess if you can get it done at the mall then do it. As long as the procedures are quick and renewing it there should be easier than going to an office. I know that the Post Office can renew a passport and they are legit. I've only done it through a travel agency because they had the information available.

I tried to have my passport renewed through a travel agency... but they charge too much... so i decided to just do it myself... and it was such a pain because of the long line... but i think right now... they did away with the long line because of the schedule given to each applicant... this is like a stroke of brilliance on the part of DFA...

hello mylotter, good day! My passport is for renewal also , and up to now im still not in the mood for renewing. My friend said that applying and renewing passport is more easy and comfortable today as compared long time ago. I remembered when i first apply for a passport, that a lot of people outside DFA gate with a long que and also a lot of fixers. When inside the main area, still a long line.... But not anymore today, through internet we can apply or renew. They will give you requirements, schedule and time through online. Here in our area we have this mobile passporting and it is successful.
