Making a Lanyard with CraftLace?

Okay, so I saw something online about making lanyards yourself with some sort of cord. I found some craftlace at a store that I go to and was wondering just how you do it? Step by step procedures please. I got the basic knot that you start at the beginning of doing it and after that my mind is completely blank! People say that it should look like a plaid/checker design and mine looks like a big knot to be honest. I've tried and tried to do it and I really would love to make some so please help!

Try searching for a tutorial on youtube or on pinterest. I think I have seen something like this on those websites. They have a lot of tutorials on there so I think you should give it a shot.

Never heard of that craft...care to elaborate? I have done so many crafts. Not to make that i haven't done, so it is odd that I haven't heard of one! Macrame was the jute tying knots craft back in the 70's. I just couldn't get into that..I tried, but just didn't like working with jute. My sister did tho. I am a needle and thread preference person!
