....Maya experts insist"
So says the headline of Yahoo New: http://ph.news.yahoo.com/world-wont-end-next-month-maya-experts-insist-072541554.html
As I read that article I wondered why all of a sudden this article got released now when the media used to prey on everyone's fear about the world ending because of the Mayan Calendar.
Nevertheless the scientific community is all hush hush about the changes in the earth that they have discovered but they don't want to cause panic so they are not disclosing most of what they have discovered.
My take is that changes are inevitable and the poles are shifting, earthquakes are happening. We should just continue to radiate joy, love, and peace to the world.

Kind of makes me worry too. But just don't mind it that much, if the world is going to end then we can't do anything about it. Just share love with everyone, live happily and in peace while we're still alive. If we keep in worrying this things, we'll end up stressing ourselves. :)

Only God knows when is the world to end! no one can predict in this whole universe when it will be. according to the scriptures God will come like a lightning, like a thief that will come unnoticed. That's why we need to get prepared all the time because it can happen whenever God wants to do it, because he is the judge and the authority in this existence. It can happen right now, or tomorrow or may be a minute.

I heard this interesting story from a guru that the Universe as it exists was just one inhalation of God and that He could end it by one exhalation. Reminds me of the mandala making by the monks in Tibet. They take the time to painstakingly create a mandala in days or maybe even weeks and after finishing it would just scatter it in a few minutes.

Yeah the world isn't going to end tomorrow because of the Mayan Calendar. There are definitely changes affecting the earth in a negative way. Unfortunately that has lead to the earthquakes, hurricanes, tsuami's etc. We should not be in a panic though. Like you said we should continue showing love to others.

In my hometown alone we have had aftershocks from earthquakes from neighbouring islands. It makes one feel edgy in some ways. In reality I only really felt 1 out of 4 of the so-called aftershocks. My family had all felt it but I was either in very deep sleep or was walking outside when the aftershocks took place.

Thanks, Dominique25! Yes, I am really having a good time here. The calamities do make us reflect more on life and what we should do to make the most out of it.

We should really savour the moment especially when we are still with our loved ones. At least this news is comforting in a way as people had been too caught up with Dec 21, 2012.

Have you seen the show "Doomsday Preppers"? It's a nice one. I am sure they come prepared should the armageddon come. Still we must also learn to focus on today but not too complacent also.

I know it is good to prepare ahead but sometimes they may be going overboard. Yes, the end of the world is God's mystery and Jesus has once said that he doesn't even know the end of days, because only the Father in Heaven knows.

We can't stop the world coming to its end. If it is going to happen anytime soon then we will all perish from our earthly existence but that won't be the end of us. We will be moved to our next forwarding address that promises eternal life. Maybe we can continue to mylot there with more sophisticated computer system. . Yes while waiting for that to happen we should enjoy life now. Live for today and let tomorrow takes care of itself.

I like the sound of that last sentence you wrote. I have read that humans can't end soon because only third-dimensional bodies and structure like ours is a good vehicle or platform for spiritual maturity and evolution.

I don't believe that the world will be end next month, too. It is just a rumor. It is just like the rumor said that it was the end of world in 1999. However, more than ten years passed, the world still runs well. If there will be the end of the world, I think we can't predict it anyway. We are far apart from it.

Good point! I think it's more appropriate to say the world "as we know it" would end.

I agree with you. By being positive we take proactive steps in starting the change from within ourselves instead of trying to change the people around us.

I turn 18 next month, a few days before Christmas. A few days before the world is supposed to end. So for me, my world will just be starting, not ending! I do not buy into that whole the-world-is-ending b.s. Because you can die at any time. So live your life to the fullest and make the most of everything. And whatever happens, happens.

Definitely. We never know when our time will be up. Doomsday in the media can be overrated and unnecessarily causing panic.

I'm agree with you. We should continue our lifes as if nothing will happens. I heard a lot of opinions about this and I'm sure that it's about peoples faith. As you know, a lot of ends of the world had anticiped but none of them don't happens. This end will have same finish.

I agree with you. We cannot deny there may be catastrophes but because of the fleeting nature of life we should take one day at a time. Hope you have a merry christmas and a happy new year soon! Just my advanced greeting!

I'm 65 years old and I can't tell you how many times we were told the world was coming to an end at some given date. There also was the story that California was going to break off from the US and become an island of it own. Did you ever hear that one? No, I'm going to continue on the way I am and not worry about the world ending.

Oh yes I have heard about that one! It's terrible. Reminds me always to be very critical about what we hear on the net. There was also some images of the Statue of Liberty done on Photoshop which went around on Facebook during hurricane Sandy. Sometimes it's not funny anymore.
