Happy Thanksgiving! What Are YOU Thankful For?

Me, I'm thankful for ... many things. In summary, for the grace given to me.
Specifically--as mentioned in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street--Pretty Women. More-specifically their grace shown by their not-minding being viewed as mere objects.
(Not that anyone limits them to 'being mere objects,' but rather that they don't 'seek vengeance' on any who so view them without any interaction.)
Even more-specifically, a pretty woman who--at the Karaoke-bar last night--suggested that I sing a song I love which I had not yet put into my Karaoke-repertoire. I've loved that song ever since its feature in The Mask with Jim Carrey.
So I'm thankful for the grace of fun, the atmosphere of which serves as ample environment for the binding of the comic soul ... while singing that song, a part of me was one with Harry Belafonte, Jim Carrey (and any writers-or-producers of The Mask) & all who've ever felt the soul-lifting effect of "Jump in the Line," including that beautiful girl.

I'm thankful you met a beautiful girl! Did you get her number? did you like her on Facebook? I hope you did.
I'm thankful for my timing. It is my timing that helped me find the job I love , it help my guy find me. And it helps with all the little things like getting home just before a rain storm Or getting my laundry out of the dryer before Sandy struck! So for many years I have Thanked G-d for my timing.

G-d also gave me good timing, but--as my ways don't fit with society--my truly-good timing doesn't match with "people's timing"
i.e. if I had ASKED for her 'number' or her 'Facebook'--tho I probably would've gotten it--she would've "known" 'just what I wanted it for.' I could probably STILL find her on Facebook with the little bit of her name I caught, but would thus ensure my place in her 'creep'-list.
So the best thing to do (on society's time-clock) is just hope she was 'impressed' enough with my obedient "performance" to come back to the Karaoke bar again (the same night of the week I'm usually there).

I feel your 'crossed fingers'-mojo working on her weekly-planner (I guess that's something like "the relief people feel when they know that others are 'praying for them'.")

Well, you obviously had a good time, and I am thankful for that, actually. I am thankful for Mylot-- where someone like me who lives only in cyberspace can still enjoy the good times in the world, as seen through the eyes of others. I am thankful for my other half, and my boys. I'm thankful I'm working. And for my alpacas, and the babies they'll have next summer.
I'm thankful that there are at least a few people in real life and in cyberspace who see how wrong the world is going, and care enough about humanity to try to do something to educate the rest and prevent disaster. I am thankful that at the moment we still have the illusion of freedom, and privacy, if not the actual liberties themselves. I am thankful there is still love in the world.
I am thankful that there are people who are still capable of dreaming, and have the courage to strive for their dreams, and I am thankful that people have their dreams come true, in large and small ways. I'm thankful that I got robbed-- because now I appreciate the little I still have that much for. I'm thankful there's a mouse living in the trunk of my car, because I can think about finding a way to give him a snug place to winter over without killing him, and until I get him out, seeing him makes me smile.
I'm thankful that those 34 years of my life are gone forever--yes, I lost all the good memories, and a lot of education-- but I lost a lot of bad times too, and now I get to learn all over again, all day every day, and get paid for doing so.

Thankfulness that we in the Kingdom of Heaven can awake everyday renewed to do G-d's bidding (which is usually 'to make sure that we make all the lives we influence continue, except they're at least a little more-Awesome.')
My life is a little more-Awesome for knowing you. I hope you can say the same thing about me in your life.

And the best way I can think of to give thanks to G-d: putting the gifts he gives to use in manifestation of his Holy Kingdom!

There are too many things and people that I should be thankful for. The most person I have to thankful for is my mother. Thank you my mother brings me to the world and brings me up.

So does mine, and she'll continue to until she passes me to my 'next mother' (a wife ... though I think the wife has to 'choose' you ... like those flying horses on James Cameron's AVATAR).

So did I. But I learned something new this year: not only is over-30 too old to eat when you're already full, it's also too old to eat things you've never tried before (a cottage-cheese fruit-salad ... it tasted okay on the way down, but not so good on the way out )
