How to earn more on mylot

hi diana and aireanna and some are reviving some of my old discussions and two of them now have 155 responses and 153 responses and I was totally amazed as I had missed about twenty responses so really went to work and hoped the others were still on mylot.but I did it anyway as it w as better late than never.I also had a number of new responses from newcomers here. so of course I did comment back to' all.it took a bit of time bu t I really enjoy=ed myself.

mysdi, well said! I think so many people are missing out on a lot of earnings because they do not comment back to those that reply to their responses. I have a discussion open with long threads on it because I kept going back to post comments. I would ask follow up questions that would encourage the person that posted the response to come back and reply again. This did greatly increase my earnings.

Hi mysD.. I remember those words wayback when I was a newbie.. Plus the "I type, I earn. You type, you earn" principle. I'm glad that I listened and very much glad that I stayed.

ShyBear, great advice! I would add that it does also help to add myLot notifications. I would especially recommend adding notifications for when people post responses to your discussion questions.

Anna, I agree with you. A notification system like Facebook is a welcomed change. It would keep one informed about any activity that may happen on a discussion which they had responded or commented on.

I agree with you Shybear88,Its the formulla which no body knows but i think Your presence on mylot and the time you spend is the most important factor,Try to brain storm and come up with new ideas with a new disscussions!

hi fellow mylotters y ou both have it right its not just post discussions but comment on all the responses you get and presto your earning will just zoonm up as it really surprises me at times. I do make more when i do a lot of commenting back.the commenting back can often spur others to comment on our comments and the discussion really takes off and we all s tart having fun. we can joke even and tease as we learn more about each other. we get paid for having fun. lol.

Very well said. Yes, as Ellyse has mentioned it is important to interact and respond on other discussions as well. Interact on your own discussions too by commenting on as many responses as you can. All this are activity and will add up when your earnings are calculated. Good luck!

sourabhrock, nice to meet you! I am glad that my post helps you. I had a challenging start when I first started on myLot, so I understand how you are feeling. Just keep in mind, myLot does not pay us per post. It is all about the amount that we participate. The more you post quality responses, comment back to others, and post quality discussion questions the more you will see your earnings increase. Try to do some of the things I suggested and I am sure that you will begin to see your earnings increase. I went from having earnings between .04 - .09 a day increase to averaging between .33 - .50. My top earnings (for those days that I really put forth 110% effort into earning with myLot) have ranged from .84 - 1.30. They will give you decent earnings but you have to participate a lot on the site. Do not think about how much per post they pay you. Just think of participating and sharing with others. I would also suggest that you try to increase the quality of your posts by using proper grammar. That means using capitals at the beginning of the sentences and the word I. Keep in mind there is a way that members do rate posts. Depending upon how your posts are rated by other members will factor into how much you earn on the site. Once the number beside your name (myLot activity rating) hits 100, you will get your reputation star. Then, you will see your reputation on the site as far as the quality of your posts. Happy myLotting. MIMO friend sometimes it is difficult as a newbie to learn how to use the myLot site. I am not defending the member that posted this discussion, but I know that when I started here I tried it for a while slowly I think I accrued over a dollar. I got frustrated and left for awhile. Recently, I returned and learned from others on the site. Once, I figured out how to participate more on the site. I fell in love with the site. I found it very easy to finally reach payout. I will get my first payout next month. While the number beside my name is increasing, it is still pretty low when you consider my profile says that I have been a member for 3 years, but I was in active for at least 2 years.

Sourabh, you've joined myLot some 10 months back and look at the number beside your name. Within such a big time you just managed that little activity and you blame myLot for crediting you $0.01 for a post? Here's a better statistic: I joined 4 months back. Look at the number beside me. Have already being paid by myLot within the first month of joining. I'm not trying to boast myself here. But trying to encourage you to be more active, have fun here and feel the difference and be surprised. Good day!

Anna, I must admit that I was astonished to see the number beside your name and your joining date. But now that you've explained it, my curiosity is pacified. But you see that's what the problem is. Its upto us to understand how the site works. The seniors in here can only clear our doubts, suggest us and motivate us. But its upto us to do what is right. This user too maybe is frustrated. But he should at least try to be active and then see the difference. If he finds no difference, then he is welcomed to hold such views and will be justifying himself by spending time somewhere else. But the try should be there.

MIMO that is good advice! I would also add that you can also search myLot to see what others are saying about a work online site. If you do not see anything about the site that you are thinking about joining, you can always start a discussion to get advice from others. I always look at it this way if a lot of myLot members are saying great things about a site it is most likely going to be a pleasant experience. If the site is not that good other members will tell you their bad experiences with the site. I sometimes look at it this way that I can make some money on myLot discussion possible sites that I am thinking of joining. That may mean that I delay joining a new site a few days, but in the mean time I will be increasing my earnings here on myLot. It all goes towards the goal of making extra money. If you think in terms of what a company has to do when they want to launch a new product, they have to spend time and money on research and development. As online earners, we too have to spend time researching sites that we want to join; however, myLot does give us some opportunities to profit from researching others experiences with websites.

I believe that you only earn from the search bar if you randomly get a reward. I use it a fair amount, and I still have yet to earn a reward. The search bar it is more of like sporatic earnings where as you will earn from your posts on a regular basis.

MIMO, that is great advice. I got the link you sent me for Swagbucks. I will sign up for that site soon! It sounds so wonderful, and I am about ready to dump bux sites. I am so frustrated with them. I finally reach a dollar with one site, which was the minimum. What do you know, now the cash out minimum is $2.

Anna, you're right. I used to use myLot's search engine till I came across Swagbucks. By then I managed over $3.50 from myLot search in the for of rewards. But still not as rewarding as Swagbucks. So I no longer use myLot's search engine, unless I need to search for a particular discussion.

"You have to go on participating as your past discussions won't contribute to your current earning." Yesterday's activity will not count towards your earnings today eaither BUT if you go and participate on your old topics then you will be earnings just the same. You ONLY earn for your own activity and not for that of others.

hi yes diana w as the one who told me its not butting in to comment on others comments and I learned I could comment for an hour or more on one discussion as I recognized friends and would tease them and they would t ease back and w would get back on the topic and all the while we were having fun and we got paid f or it too. not many place where you can have fun and get paid for it.

Visdude, well said it is about having engaging conversations with others. As mysDi stated below, you have to interact with others on the site by posting comments back to those that leave you responses. Furthermore, you can post comments to people on others discussions.

Previously I too used to shy away from commenting on someone else's response, unless they have stated something wrong or need correction. But me too after Diana's teaching have learnt that its okay to comment, interact and have fun on other's responses. That way one can be more familiar and engage and attract more conversation.

MyLot do not tell us anywhere that we have to make 'three or four liners of comments'. What they do tell us though is that myLot is a discussion site and that we earn for our overll quality particpation in the discussions. A discussion is an exchange of opinions and ideas between two or more people not just posting responses.

I often think about having a lot more fun and avoiding all of these topics about how to earn on myLot but then I think again and say what needs to be said, in the hope that others will read, use the advice and then have as much fun as I do here (and see their earnings increase too ) I learnt a new word in your comment - but I am going to forget it immediately as it is not one that I would ever use anywhere

Bluebell, I agree. Did you see mysDi discussion about the secret to earning on myLot was to not pay attention to the earnings. I tend to agree with her. If you stop thinking about how much you will earn, and just have fun participating on myLot you will enjoy your time here on the site so much more. The surprising thing is that this seems to be the recipe for getting good earnings that once you start having fun posting and participating with others that you will start to see the earnings soar too!

Huh? 5 hours? There is absolutely no need to spend that amount of time here to earn 'a decent amount'.

Shal, I'd have agreed with you if today was 4 months back and I had just joined myLot. But with time, we all have changed. You too will, provided you enjoy the site. I derive more pleasure in helping you understand the site better than earning for helping you. There's a different kind of joy in it, which you'll only understand after you have spend some quality time with the site and have interacted with several users and have made several friends. We'll take on this matter 3 months hence and then we'll check what is your objective with the site.

Thanks for your advice Pen_Pal,but i dont agree with you,I think all these responses are just for the sake of income!The day i joined mylot,the only thing which came to my mind was dollars!hope you agree with me!Its a fact!we all are here to make some money,not to get our answers! Pen_Pal777 jus asking/posting questions is not what myLot is about at all. Here we earn for discussing. There are other sites for questions and answers.

tym, you have to read to learn. I understand that you are new, so I will explain the protocal for posting a response to a discussion question here on myLot. 1) You read the discussion question 2) You read the posts that other have already posted to the discussion 3) This step is optional, but I do recommend it especially if you want to earn here on myLot. You can comment back to others responses. This could be to add information or even to ask questions. 4) When you are finished reading all of what others have already said on the discussion then you post your response. You can also reference the guidelines on the myLot tab that will explain that this is the protocol for responding to a discussion question. If you had taken the time to read, you would have seen that many had already offered lots of advice on how to earn from myLot. You miss out on learning so much by not taking the time to read what others have said in the discussion.
